| Hard Terds Sorry this is a thread about yorkie poop Chloe's poop has always come out looking old, hard, and petrified(okay petrified may be an exageration) . ALWAYS! My best friend has a 4 year old yorkie and his poop is the same way. So is this normal? Do ya'lls yorkies poop look ancient even though it is fresh? Ive been meaning to ask about this for the past year and somehow it kept slipping my mind (or maybe I was just too embarrased )

| Chloe has never had a fresh looking poop. I just think its so weird My other dogs poop looks normal and they all eat the same dog food. Chloe doesnt have any problem pooping either. Thats why I was wondering if all yorkie have the same type of poo, I just figured it was a yorkie thing

| Ive changed her food and it still looks the same. And I was kidding about the petrified comment. It just comes out looking like its a bit hard and several hours old. And she doesnt have any problem when she is pooping. What does she need in her diet to soften it?

| Try the oil you put on the food, that might help and it's good for her skin and coat too. |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Found this info that might be helpful... A high-fiber commercial food will work, or you can mix unflavored Metamucil into canned food. Check the label for the type that supplies 2.4 grams of soluble fiber per dose. For dogs, use 1 teaspoon per meal for each 10 to 25 pounds of body weight. So you may want to mix under 1/2 teaspoon. Another thing you can use is Grape Nuts cereal- dogs seem to love that as well. Just give a few teaspoons of it a couple times through the day and that should help your pet "go". I'm sure they'd love it as a treat, as well. Hope that this help, Shana...worried about your little one! http://www.sidyboysfoolin.com/Constipation.html

| Must be okay - I have a four-year-old Bichon who does the same time. Not often, but occasionally, his stools look almost like white dry chalk. This is only occasionally, and at the same time, he is extremely healthy and has never been sick. Who knows why!! May be something he ate that day - perhaps he drank less water than usual. I'll never know why he does it - but it has never been a problem. Carol Jean |

| My yorkie's poop (I can't believe I am typing about this ) is always hard dark little tootsie rolls. She doesn't strain to poop so I don't worry about it. I recently changed her diet from cheap grocery store dog food to Nutro and it didn't make any difference in her poop habits. Well maybe less poop but same consistency. Anyway she seems to be fine and it doesn't generally stick in her butt fur and it's easy to pick up off the carpet in case of the occasional opps so no complaints here.
