Donating YT 30K Club Member | Red inside ear This may seem like a weird question but are the inside half of your dogs ear red. I was looking at Cali's ears tonite and one ear in particular, is red from the ear canal to about half way up, the rest of the skin to the ear tip is not red. She isn't scratching at it but it looks kind of weird to me. I don't know if I never noticed it before or if she has a problem. Any volunteers to check their puppies ears? Thanks

I just bathed mine today and their's are not red. I would think that she has an infection. She probably needs to go to the vet to get meds. Wish I could be of more help. Please keep us posted.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Thanks that was what I was afraid of. They don't smell and she isn't acting like it bothers her at all. I will get her to the vet.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I still have ear drops from when she had a yeast infection in her ears and they are still good so I started her on them and will call my vet to see how soon I can get her in.

| Lizzy never complained about her ears either....I would be careful about using the drops until you are sure if it is an infection..the vet will probably want to look at some of the ear stuff under a microscope to determine if it is an ear infection or a yeast infection and if you put drops in now that could affect the testing...good luck.... |

| Pixie is prone to this, it's caused by 'susceptible strains of yeast.' Usually, she gets medication called 'Otomax' twice a day in each ear but her vet switched her to 'Mometamax' this last time. The ears are red and sometimes feel hot inside with brown yuck, smells awful. I check her ears often and avoid a vet visit if caught early. I requested a larger size of the medication to have handy. Donating YT 30K Club Member | Vets not in today of course. This morning her ear was much better looking only pink not red or hot. So I put more drops in until I get her to the vet. They seem to be working but I will let the vet know I started her on teh drops.
