| did I over react? Ok heres the story I had work today and my husband was supposed to watch zoey he watched her for a bit then he had to run an errand. ..I get this text while at work asking me if he should leave her at home or bring her to his moms by the time I saw the message it was too late he already brought her to his mom so fast forward to later I leave work he is not home yet I go to my mother in laws house n pick up zoey to my surprise shes not there I ask my father in law where she is he tells me that my mother in law went to the the water park took her nieces n she took zoey with her(in her carrier which I later find out) I freaked out I call my mother in law n ask her where zoey is she says with her n I tell her she should ask me before she decides to take her anywhere I flipped on bec she goes it's okay its not a big deal which annoys the hell out of me...then I later find out it was local n not over an hour ride. ..I just got soo annoyed that she kind of snuck her knowing I would get annoyed bec zoey is tiny I dont want her to get dropped by her nieces that she took the water park...did I over react? |

YT 1000 Club Member | I dont think you overreacted lol. Zoey is like your baby and she is really tiny. If she were a human baby I'd flip my ish if she wasn't where "she was supposed to be" when I went to pick her up. Especially if she were in such a crowded(kid friendly)place like a waterpark. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | It's natural to want to keep your little one safe. But to be honest, the one I would be annoyed with is your DH and not your MIL. She did you all a favor by accommodating Zoey and it wasn't fair to her or your nieces to expect them to change plans because your DH needed help. It sounds like she used her best judgment and kept Zoey safely in her carrier. This is something to work out with DH about what to do in the future with Zoey when neither of you can be there.

| Zoey is really small so I don't think you over reacted. I would make a plan for the future with your husband to leave Zoey at home.

| I think I would have freaked out, too, but to let them know that you were upset may be a mistake. Most people don't understand how we feel about our babies. I wouldn't want my pup taken to a water park or any where else by someone else but it was your husband that took her to his parents. Maybe talk to him about how you want your Zoey cared for while you are gone. Personally, I feel our babies are usually better off left at home when we have to go some where unless we have done all we can to make sure they are comfortable and well cared for during the trip. |

| I agree with the others, I think you need to have a discussion with your Husband. Not to defend your MIL but I think we are a more dog conscious society now. We know more, we tend to treat them with a little more respect and care simply because we know better and learned from experience. I don't want to raise any feathers with my opinion, I just remember when I was younger it was acceptable to care for our dogs in a way that is not acceptable now (due to experience).
