Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Naughty new peeing habit Two nights this week after a lovely long walk we've returned as normal. Crystal has then made straight for my bed on the first occasion then Irina's 2 days later and peed on them! At seven months she's never done this before, making for her wee pad, albeit with monotonous regularity after having been on the beach for an hour! Could she be entering her first season and suffering from pre-menstrual tension or confusion, as she's normally such a well behaved little soul? Last edited by docmartin; 08-24-2013 at 03:35 PM. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I would have her checked for a UTI. The only time Cali peed on my bed she had a urinary tract infection. That was the only "symptom" she had. She is at an age where she could be coming into heat also. I hope you can find out why she is doing that.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Thank you both, checking on UTI, the symptoms are; More frequent urination/more asking to go out Your dog may only urinate a little bit at a time but seem to have to urinate more often than usual Accidents in house trained dogs often are a hallmark sign of diagnosing a UTI Your dog seems to strain while urinating or have difficulty urinating when it seems they need to Blood in urine or a strong smell to the urine Urine is darker yellow in color or even brown Your dog may seem to like her genitals more often Tenderness in the dog's abdomen when you touch it Fever Lethargy She's demonstrating none of the above, maybe she just gets excited upon our return and doesn't want to leave our company to reach the pee pad. It's a spasmodic act and the danger period is definitely immediately after returning from her long evening walkie with Dad. All today no problems and squirting with great aim and purpose. Tonight we're going to keep her in the hall area a la pee plaza and see if she reverts to the correct designation... She's very lucky that silly old Dad's such a soft touch and the bestest defence Attorney in cases submitted before the 'Court of Mum'! Sometimes I feel duped, but like today when she's lain right across me with her little chin resting just below mine all afternoon, that tiny heart throbbing against my hand, I'll contend her 'plea bargains' unpaid for ever! Anyways the 'Hanging Judge' caved in after a few hours last night and she slept with 'the bench' as per usual. So once again Perry Mason triumphs! If only they weren't so damn appealing! |

| Call in Judge Judy....that's what I say.....Perry's too soft.... Harry had a couple of these 'episodes' when he was around about Crystal's age....we had him checked out of course, but there was nothing wrong I think he got into that state of mind where he was so delighted to see us both, together, and all having such a great game and such fun....that he kind of 'lost himself'.....he literally peed himself with joy and almost on the move - wherever that might be Nightmare keep washing the duvets though, isn't it.... When Harry has to go to his Harry-sitter (sometimes one day a month - sometimes for maybe 5 days on the trot during the course of a year)....he never, EVER forgets her....the delight is overwhelming - and the adoring gazes.... | |

| Agree with the comments on UTIs - this is a common trigger for accidents that happen out of the blue, especially in conjunction with the symptoms that docmartin helpfully posted. I would definitely go to the vet if it continues as while it may be as simple as a UTI, there could be other factors at play too. |

Paco, our little Spanish beach stray Mongerel, was the complete opposite, nearly wagging his hind quarters off in fits of excitement and open cast love, Alternativly, if he accompanied us (more normally) the 'Harpies' would cold shoulder him entirely and eat his food as well in vengeance and jealousy I suspect I've taken the thread a bit 'off piste' but the subject matter 'peeing' seems to be back to normal now, however she still seems to need to pee on very short notice, sometimes, so I'm going to book her first check up with a Vet and have her nails clipped and arrange to have her neutered too. | |
