| Funny you bring this up. I was actually looking at a bag of Pro Plan at Petco today. I'm sure you'll get a lot of people who say it's junk & that Purina will poison your dog. But I also have a picky eater, so I feel your pain. A lot of people have issues with Purina, the company. I haven't researched Purina enough to comment on it. My picky eater is eating Orijen Regional Red...for now. Have you tried Royal Canin Mini Special? The Mini Special formula is made specifically for picky eaters. I was going to grab a bag today, but they didn't have the small bag at Petco. Anyway, to answer your question...I, personally, would consider feeding Pro Plan. A lot of sled dogs (as in Ititarod) eat Pro Plan. They seem to do really well on it.

| Mine eat FROMM 4 star. They have been making pet food for almost 100 years and no recalls. Nestle/Purina/Proplan is the maker to Waggin Train and Canyon Creek Jerky Treats. My Zoey was 1 of the victims.

| Ultimately, you need to feed a food that works for both you and your pet.

| Purina Pro Plan contains corn I am sure, look at the bag. I think most of Purina foods do contain corn. Corn and wheat are both not good in dog food, they have trouble digesting it and often have allergy/digestion issues. Be careful with dog food especially for picky eaters. I often loaded with too much salt and sugar which does make it more desirable for the animal who will choose to eat it but definitely not a good choice. High protein food is often more palatablie but high protein especially for a toy dog is not good, too hard on kidneys and liver as is a high salt diet. High sugar or fat can affect the pancreas. I am having pretty good luck with Natural Balance. You can perhaps try Sweet Potato and Bison or Sweet Potato and Fish or one of the others. The Natural Balance Ultra Small Bites seem to be fine with my bunch as well. |

| I was feeding mine canine caviar but it's a pain to find. I have to order and the drive forever to get it so I tried royal canin yorkie. Even my most finicky dog loves it. I was hesitant because it does contain some grains but they are doing wonderful on it. Any purina food makes me nervous with all the past problems. |

I'm going to buy a bag of that Royal Canin Mini Special today. I'll let you know what happens. I wouldn't feel bad about giving him Pro Plan. I know how hard it is to feed a finicky pup. When he gets bored with it, you can rotate it with a better quality food. That way it balances out. Good luck!!
