| Peed in sleep Okay, so Kash is not a yorkie but I come here for all my advice He's a maltese or maltese cross, and is about 5 years old or so (we think - he was abandoned and we adopted him) He is sooooo well behaved. He's house trained and crate trained, and rarely has accidents. He does poop in the house sometimes, but we understand that if he has to go, he has to go. We know it's him because he goes upstairs to the second floor bathroom every time ( lol silly dog!) and Layla is paraplegic and Lucy is old and hates stairs so he is the only one who can go up there on his own! Anyways, he also sleeps in bed with my husband and I. On Sunday morning, Lucy wanted to go out, so my husband got up to take all of the dogs. He put Kash on the floor and tried to get him to go downstairs, but he just turned around and begged for me to pull him back up on the bed. It's very weird for him, because he's SO excited every time you say "outside" even if he doesn't have to go! So I thought maybe he's not feeling well, and I brought him up on the bed. He curled up beside me and went to sleep. DH came back to bed after Lucy came in, and Layla had been expressed. We all fell asleep for a little while longer. After an hour or so, DH rolled over and started petting Kash, who then rolled over to expose his belly for a tummy scratch. DH was like "Woah, what's that?" and Kash's tummy was all wet and there was a wet spot under him. He had peed in his sleep!!!! It was only a small puddle so it wasn't a full pee, but it was definitely pee. He went outside and peed well after that, and then he just spent the morning in his crate, sleeping. He wasn't being himself. But by afternoon, he was running and playing like normal. He has been going out regularly and hasn't had any more accidents at all. I know it is not normal for a dog to pee in their sleep and it normally indicates a problem, but could it be that he was just feeling sick/tired and didn't have the energy to go? I mean, he seems completely fine now. He is peeing well and doesn't seem to have issues with it. On a side note - I am also pregnant But since I've been pregnant, Kash has been VERY attached to me. He wants to be on me or touching me at all times. He doesn't want me to be alone. Maybe this is why he wanted to stay in bed with me instead of going out that morning. Maybe he's acting weird because he senses the changes. I have no idea!!!

| I rarely give advice about health issues. Of course you will take him to the vet if he seems ill or this keeps happening. So I just wanted to tell you about Rubin. He is older and does not have bladder stones (my first guess) His bladder muscles are weak and he sleeps really soundly. He wears his Senior belly band at night. Then if he goes he stays dry.

| Thanks for the reply! If it keeps happening we we definitely take him to the vet. He peed before bed last night, slept through the night with no accidents, and was happy to go outside for his pee this morning! I just don't get why he just seemed so off that morning!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Interesting...it does make one wonder if he didn't want to leave you. Also, ya know how humans dream and you hear of kids who dream they're on the toilet and they go potty in their sleep? Dogs dream too and I have to wonder if he didn't dream of going potty...?

| He could be incontinent if he's peeing in his sleep. This is easily treated with Proin. It's. Not expensive. |
