| Ideas for Yorkie home alone? I have to go back to work (teaching) in two days and will be leaving Scarlett home alone. Anyone have ideas for leaving toys or distractions that I might leave for her? |

| If you can a walk before you leave would be great for her. Do you have any kongs? You can fill them with peanut butter or yogurt and freeze it. That is always a toy favorite.

| One of the things I do is keep the tv/radio on. I read somewhere that helps... Something about just hearing people talking. There are also puzzle toys where the pup has to "work" to get to the treats. Magnus and Zoey LOVES the "stuff n throw" balls. Amazon.com: Stuff n? Throw Ball, Medium, Blue:... If you're going back to teaching, does that mean you'll be gone for 8+ hrs every day? Will you be able to come home for a short walk? |

| I started giving treats when I left the house. They eventually caught on that they would get something good when mommy was leaving! (I've even crushed Cheerios in their food because it will take them a while to dig it out...to distract them.) They still freak out every now and then. They now know my schedule and know what to expect and when to expect it. If I change the routine, they freak. I always leave the TV or my ipod on when there is a change (for about one week) in my routine. They will NOT take a treat if they are in a panic. I just try not to make a big deal of me leaving. It took a while, but they are pretty good now. ....Now when they hear the car door close or me locking the door (beep) from coming home, you can hear 3 little furry yorkies barking for ten miles...maybe more.... Excited! The youngest is the worst....they are so funny and soooo loved! Good luck; it may take a while, but your baby will catch on. |
