Bringing Brody Home! Well, thanks to ALL you guys (and a few of you guys in particular, and you know who you are! *cheek smooches!*) I finally found the perfect pup for us, and I brought him home on Tuesday, 8/13/13. I learned so much here, and I thank you all for the advice, wisdom and wealth of knowledge you so generously share. I chose Deb Sillers of Amazing Yorkies as our breeder. She impressed me immediately. She was tirelessly patient with my 1,000's of questions. She simply blew me away with her kindness, responsiveness, experience, expertise, and obvious love of the breed. I had no preference of gender. My criteria were health and temperament. I wanted a pup that was loving, calm, and confident. Not a nervous, high strung, yippy happy pup. The little boy pup that made my heart go pitter patter was a pup she was saving for herself - for the show ring. But she let me adopt him... and for that I will always be so appreciative and grateful.. THANK YOU, Deb! She could have shipped him (and I know people do that successfully ALL the time!) but my husband and I just couldn't do it! So while Deb was busy getting him neutered and micro-chipped, I was busy making flight plans. I flew from Pittsburgh to Dallas Fort Worth to Kansas City to Chicago O'Hare and back to Pittsburgh on Tuesday Aug 13. (Ohmylawwwwwd, whatta loooong and tiring day!) But when I stepped off that plane in Kansas City, Deb was there to meet me with the puppy. I took one look at her proud, smiling face, and that adorable, perfect puppy and I almost cried! Let me introduce you now to Brody Weston... born 3/26/13, and now ours to keep and love forever! Thank you, Deb... for the most amazing puppy I have ever known. He is perfect in every way.

He is adorable. Congratulations. I have the same expen and potty pad holder that she slept on instead of pottying on. Be careful with the expen. I could only put Brandi in the top because she would try to escape from the zippered sides. They are smart and will watch how you put them in and then plan their escape using the same way you put them in

THANK YOU all for your posts welcoming Brody! Yes, Lynzy recommended the puppy play pen and I LOVE IT! It is working great! THANK YOU, Lynz!!! The pee pad training is going good. He has used it, but he seems to prefer to go potty outside, which is OK with me, but wait'll he sees a PA winter, LOL! He'll be ASKING for that pee pad!!! He has had 2 accidents in the house, just squatted and peed right when I was looking at him! haha! I have the play pen by our bed at night. Put him to bed in it last night at 11pm and went to sleep myself. He was quiet as a mouse and as good as gold all night long; heard him stirring around at 6:30 am. Peeked in and he was awake and the piddle pad was still clean and dry. I grabbed that puppy and OUTSIDE we went (yes, I was in my PJs in the yard at 6:30 am...!) and he peed and pooped! WooHoo! I made such a fuss you would have thought he just graduated from Harvard! I really like the idea of this dual training (pee pad AND outside).
