| Yogurt Question? I have read on here before that some of you give your baies yogurt. Is good or safe for them. Can I give my girl some people yogurt. You know like the liquid flavored one that we get at the grocery store. |

| I usually give mine vanilla or plain if they are on antibiotics, or when Zowie was pregnant/nursing. Other than that, it might be a lot of extra fat, unless you are eating some and want to give a taste for a treat - I think is ok.

| I don't know about yogurt but I give mine cottage cheese and cheese and she does fine. I don't see why yogurt would hurt. |

| Dennis just loves cottage cheese and he gets some every day. It is more his idea than mine at this point, but if I don’t have any he would be pretty upset! Sue |

| The breeder told us to now & then put just a little bit (1 teaspoon) on the dry food. She said to use regular plain Dannon. So we bought the little tiny one so it didn't ruin. Sorry but can't remember the REASON she said to give it.

| I have always been told Yogurt (plain) is fine. My dogs get cottage cheese as a treat at least once a week or so. Plain white rice is also fine when they are sick, just not all the time. If you have any concerns call your vet - he should answer that over the phone for you, or his secretary will.

| What about Fat Free stuff I only eat the fat-free cottage cheese, yogurt, regular cheese, EVERYTHING in my house is either low fat or fat free. (Hubby has coronary artery disease). You still get the calcium benefit without the fat.

| My boys love yogurt too! They get a spoonful when I'm eating it. I don't worry about it being fatty, they get so little, it's just a treat. Any flavor is allright by them. The cultures in the yogurt are good for them as they are for us...

| Did I understand correctly that you are asking if the LIQUID kind that you drink is okay? If so, I would doubt that it has the active acidophilus enzymes as a LIVE component. That is what they need--the enzymes and they have to be live to be used by the intestines..My dogs love yogurt and they will not eat the plain kind. So, I buy van. flavored fat free cause that is what I like.. |
