| No accidents for two of the last three days! The one accident was yesterday and was my fault, when I left her alone for about 10 minutes or I was about to have one. The potty training has been at times difficult with my 19 week old Cookie Monster, but is definitely improving over time.

| For the first 3 weeks or so I had her a trip to the bathroom with her was a guaranteed accident, so the last couple of weeks I usually just take my chances and try to be quick. In fact, her very first accident came while watching me take a pee in the toilet lol, as she went simultaneously.

| How do you get them to potty train My Emmie is 5 months old now. We take her outside all the time. She does pee and poop outside but she does it just the same inside. Drives me nuts. she is kennel trained and hardly goes in her kennel but she is out of ther kennel a lot of the time and I try a firm NO and then take her outside when she goes in the house but that doesn't seem to work. My other dog (bischon/poodle mix) takes her out with him all the time but she doesn't seem to learn from him. She seems to think it is fine to go in the house. |

| Gina is 13 1/2 weeks old, every time she gets up from her nap, she comes straight to me, we then go to her pee pad, which she doesn't use. Gina then sits as soon as I get her leash and we go outside for a walk. She still has a few accidents, mostly my fault, but is doing very well with her training. I'm lucky enough to be home all day with her, and can keep the schedule no problem. She sleeps in her crate at night, and when I have to take my meds at different times early in the morning, we go out then as well. So congrats, and good luck. Cheers Quad

(1) Command her to "Go Pee" when we're outside. She'll usually start sniffing for a spot right after. The "Go Pee" command should also be given when she is squatting and in the process of peeing or pooping outside (at least according to my yorkie book). (2) Enormous praise every time she pees or poops outside. Every outdoor potty is an event that gets celebrated both when she does it and then again when she comes back in. Kisses and indoor playtime unless she goes off into the crate or asks onto the couch for a nap. (3) After she goes it's outdoor playtime, unless it's the really hot part of the day when we just want to go back in lol. (4) Stern NO when she squats indoors if I catch her in the act and immediate trip outside if she sniffs the floor or circles (this made potty training really hard the first 3 weeks or so though, because Cookie constantly had her nose to the ground both inside and outside then). Of course an outdoor trip if she actually pees inside too (luckily she hasn't pooped inside but maybe 3-4 times total, and all were at least 3 weeks ago). We're still REALLY far from the goal, but I think this has gotten us on the right path.
