| Sherpa carrier? I see a lot of people say they like the Sherpa carriers for airplane travel. What is it about this type of carrier that makes it superior? My dog does not like carriers. She sleeps in her wire crate, but has a good amount of room. I know she won't like the carrier, but no option if we want to fly with her. I read some reviews about wheeled sherpas, but some people say they tip over and I think the wheel sound and vibration might freak her out anyway. She is 10 pounds. Also, the Sherpa seems to be 17 or 18" x 11 x 10.5long depending on which Amazon link you look at. Spirit Airlines says 16x 14' x 12. Will they it through as long as it "squishes" down to 16"? Do these open on the top so we can carry her with her head out? She still won't like it. I hope they let us hold her in our lap while we wait to board. They seem to run,$50 on Amazon. Any other good options available in petsmart? Also, we have a snoozer seat but can't think how to bring it with bag fees and all. Saw a Martha Stewart one online that seems to boost like a snooozer yet it says collapsible. We've used the kind that hang from the headrest, but they aren't solid and supportive and make Maggie nervous. Martha Stewart Pets™ Booster Seat for Dogs - Car Seats - Crates & Carriers - PetSmart |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | I have the Sherpa Ultimare dog carrier. It is plane approved. I have the small one. It is roomy. Sherpa Ultimate Dog Carrier I have the Solvit Tagalong Deluxe Booster Seat. It works great on my bucket seats of my car. I would suggest you contact the airline to find out if you can use that on a plane. http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...AvailInUS%2FNo

| The seat is for the rental car. Maggie is so used to her booster seat and I hate to ruin it by having her on my lap for a week. But, the snoozer seat would be tough to bring with me. You would thing for $100 each way the dog COULD have a set and sit in her booster! It would be cheaper to buy her a ticket! |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I have the older version of this one in the small size: Element | Sherpa Pet The bottom is made of wood covered in faux sheepskin. its easy to removeand clean. I think it just makes the pup feel more secure to have a truly solid platform versus some of the more flimsy ones. I like the way both ends plus one side is vented, it keeps things nice and cool. The solid side has a strap that you can secure a seatbelt through in the car for travel. The material is sturdy and easily spot cleaned. The handle is long enough that you can put it over your shoulder to carry, though its not the most comfortable. I bought mine at Petco, so I was able to see the fit and construction before I paid for it. Overall, I have been very happy with it.

| This is the one we have, and Ian loves it! If I take it out, he will jump in it, so I end up wheeling him around the house. The Ultimate Sherpa Bag On Wheels - Dog Carriers and Airline Pet Carrier from petco.com
