| Thank You for the education you have given me I just want to say thank you for educating me about some misconceptions with the Yorkie breed. I was one who foolishly thought that there were Teacup Yorkies. Imagine my surprise when I learned differently here. Now I didn't go into getting a Yorkie because of the Teacup thing I have just always loved the breed and thought they were sweet little ones. After giving in to allowing my dh have larger breed dogs for the duration of our 15 and a half year marriage I wanted my own small breed lap dog companion and Yorkie was the breed I was most interested in. My getting educated by you all it has given me the opportunity to help educate other people because I am always getting asked if my Sadie is a Teacup. I happily tell people that there is no such thing as a teacup Yorkie. It's a good feeling :-) |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | What a great post ! I know for a fact your words mean way more than you know to so many people here who fight daily to advocate for the yorkie breed, and against the use of 'teacup'. Thanks for posting!

| Many of us learned the way you did, were horrified to learn all that goes into a dog getting the "teacup" designation, found out the horrors of the lives many of them live(much of it from personal experience), did more research in life and online and decided to speak out against such a cruel, unhealthy breeding practice as deliberately creating the "teacup" puppy. Thank you so much for speaking out for these little dogs.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I didn't know anything about the tinies until I started lurking on YT. This site is full of wonderful information and people who are passionate about keeping this breed healthy. I've given the "there is no such thing as a teacup" speech multiple times and referred people to YT for more info. Hopefully, doing so will save some future owners heartache and will keep $ out of the hands of greeders.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Same here, I went through the 'Tea Cup' bit, but honestly enjoy our boisterous and robust little five - plus pounder. I feel terribly sad about these little people and wish folk would desist from the practice. Trouble is it's supply and demand and many don't understand the future problems and sadnesses both they and their dogs probably face, by this inbreeding. I think they're all great and the bigger ones, are just as desirable in my opinion. Whatever way you look at it their all small dogs really? YT.com, a great place for eccentrics who love these wonderful little companions and I'm very happy to support them. |

| I'm so glad you have taken seriously the many warnings you will find on this forum about the poor breeding practices that many are people are using these days. It is no wonder that you bought the "teacup" story that is being sold to the general public. They even sell dog clothing in "teacup" sizes. It is very frustrating for those who are trying to inform an uneducated public. |
