| Will my Yorkie lift his leg? I have a six month old yorkie who currently squats. I am wondering if he will eventually lift his leg and if there is a way to prevent it? He is not yet neutered. |

| go ahead go ahead and get him neutered. he may or maynot lift his leg, if he starts marking just use belly bands inside. |

| Our Yorkie and our other male dogs sqatted for over a year. My shih tzu still squats at times. Some males lift their legs right away like our chihahua jack russel mix. We're hoping when we get him neutered he will not lift his leg in the house. |

| Only one of my boys lifts his leg - he was neutered young too. I would go ahead and neuter him now.

| My 6 month old lifts his leg but only when he potties; so far he hasn't marked anything... I'm getting him neutered next month. Wanted to give time for all of his teeth to come in. |

| Enzo is 10 months old, neutered at 6 months, came to live with us at 7 months. 90% of the time he squats, the other 10% he lifts his leg - Has NEVER marked in the house or our yard for that matter, only for special trees along his walk

| My Aussie neutered at 3 months didn't lift his leg until 2, teddy (10 months) lifts leg a little, bear (4 months) stacks out when peeing. I would wait until 8 months - year for neuter, allows growth plate close and you can pull retained teeth at the time. |

YT 500 Club Member | My male first little male squatted his whole life. Fritz squats on the potty pads in the house but when I take him out he hikes his leg and looks so proud. It cracks me up.

| My boys do the same, squat on their piddle pads, and hike their legs outdoors. Teddy learned from Max to hike his leg. Max was a leg lifter from 13 weeks of age.

| Toby lifts his rear leg a little bit but he doesn't mark. He does like to sniff where he went though.

| Rocco has lifted his leg since day one both indoors and out. he was neutered at 7 months. If he goes indoors on the pee pad he feels that as long as he has one of his paws on the pad he is good to go!!!!

| Tyson always lifts his leg.....even when he poops , but if you're asking about marking...he hasn't done that since I had him neutered.

| Rufus was neutered when he was 8 months old. Before neutering, he did lift his leg once in a while when peeing but never marked. After his neutering he hasn't lifted his leg to pee, he only squats..
