| How do you entertain a senior? Sorry for all my threads today but I have questions. Sprout is 14 years old. He doesn't like to do much, so what can we try with him with regard to entertainment? Thus far the only things he likes are: - cuddling - sleeping - bully sticks - chasing our hands under the comforter on the bed (he likes being in soft, squishy areas) - He likes to chew on things - a lot, particularly anything that has a high piercing squeak. - He likes "The Claw" (from the movie Liar Liar) - rolling around in chicken poop (gets a bath directly after) In case you're concerned - vet says nothing wrong with him rolling around in chicken poop. Sprout doesn't have any health issues at this time other than his hind legs will get very stiff in the winter when he goes outside to potty. He's on Apawthecary for his joints and it works awesome for him. He has all his teeth still, so he's not opposed to chewing, he loves to gnaw on things. ...anyone have any ideas for him to keep him happy other than what I've listed? He doesn't like to play fetch anymore, and prefers not to take walks...but I would like more ideas that will exercise him a *little* for overall health but not enough to make him sore. Thank you in advance! |

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | You could try getting him a (treat) hide and seek game/puzzles. Gosh I wish I knew what they were called. I hear they are very poplar here on YT with other members. Here are few ideas that I found on Amazon.+ Amazon.com: Ethical Pet Seek-A-Treat Shuffle Bone... Amazon.com: Company of Animals Nina Ottosson Dog...

| Thank you very much for the links, and knowing how much he likes to gnaw on everything I think he would really enjoy one of those. :] |

| My Peek A Boo (16.5 YO) Still loves going for walks, but he's just not that good at it anymore. So now he goes for rides in a stroller, and he absolutely loves it! He can get out and about and still smells all the scents carried on the breezes. We stop at two shady spots for a pee break and he'll walk a bit, but when he stops, it means he wants back in the stroller. He sits and looks all around, and looks like he's King of the World!

| hmm...I hadn't thought about getting him a stroller. I mean, I've heard of others doing that but I guess I didn't consider it. That might be a good idea. He used to love his walkies, he just can't go very far without saying uhhhh nope, let's go home. I just might look into that. |
