| My female yorkies pee smells bad!! Hi! I was gone for a couple days and Lexi, my 4 month female yorkie was home with my parents. I came back today and she stunk so I have her a bath, and then she peed after, and it smells SO bad, almost a fishy smell! I asked my mom if she gave her anything weird to eat and she said she gave her a small piece of bacon yesterday. Could that be why? |

| UTI Sending prayers that she feels better soon. I think you caught it early and once she is on antibiotics she will be fine.

| I'd get a vet check, too. Maybe if she got into a human vitamin jar or ate iron pills or something weird it could make her urine smell bad but if it is a UTI, you know how lousy they can make you feel and no doubt little dogs feel just as yucky from the burning, urgency and infection. Hoping she feels better soon.

| She seems so normal. Running around, beig hyper, eating and drinking as usual. Behaviour hasn't changed at all, I only noticed the bad smell. |

| Miley also showed no signs of illness. It's just her urine was awful!

| If it's a fishy smell, it's probably her anal glands, she might need them expressed bc it's full. Sometimes a little comes out while they go poopie, but if their poopie is on the soft side, it doesn't come out & needs help in expressing it. Your vet can help you out. If she had a UTI, she'd be urinating frequently in small amounts & licking down there a lot, often having potty mistakes, but some pups show no symptoms. No more bacon & table scraps! They can get pancreatitis from the higher fat content.

| I'm pretty positive it's a UTI. I never give her table scraps, my mom is the worst! I always give her trouble for doing it lol. |

| What did your vet say/do? My girl is wetting on my carpet, which is a first, and she is eleven years old. The vet did a blood workup on her, and it was all good. She has a super tiny bladder, so he could not express any urine as she went an hour before her appointment. He put her on amoxi-drops, twice a day for seven days. She has had three treatments, but peed on my carpet again tonight. I know it takes awhile for the medication to kick in. Maybe she has a different problem, but we are giving this a try. What did you find out when you took your baby to the vet? Thanks. Kate
