| "PA Yorkie Breeders website" -- reputable? Hi, I'm just new here, and *thinking* about adding a Yorkie to our family of me, my husband, and our 2 Ragdoll cats. I am only in the info-gathering stage, though, so far. I found this website today: Top Yorkie Breeders - Pennsylvania Yorkie Breeders And out of curiosity I replied to an ad for one of the puppies, clearly stating that I was just requesting info. Within 3 minutes (literally) there was an email reply in my Inbox. Then within 5 minutes, there was a missed call AND a voice mail on my cell phone! I was given this number to call, 866-592-5322, x 279 to talk to Christopher, a "puppy counselor." OK, I'm starting to feel a little weird and pressured here! Before I call him back I thought I would ask here if any of you know about this site? I know very little about dog breeders (but I am somewhat knowledgeable about cat breeders) and it seems to me that this is either a highly organized and extremely well run cooperation of reputable breeders OR a very thinly disguised puppy mill! All thoughts, advice, and info greatly appreciated! Thank you! Lynn PS If this has been posted in the wrong forum, please forgive! |

| Looks like some kind of broker and brokers get there puppy's from puppy mills so I would absolutely not get a puppy from there.

| Someone inquired recently about them. They report that they only work with those breeders who strive to better the breed. Some of the spotlighted dogs look quite odd, actually........ |

| I noticed that too. Good breeders want to meet the people who are going to get one of there pups and interview them and stuff so a good breeder would never hand over there pup to this place.

| Thank you all for your input and replies. The whole thing just felt very SKEEVY to me. I have heard that unfortunately PA and Ohio are loaded with puppy mills, which makes even THINKING about finding a pup from a reputable, conscientious breeder feel very daunting! |

Very true. It makes it tough to find good breeders in those states. Check the places mentioned and hopefully someone can recommend a breeder to you who is near you.

Actually if you take out Pennsylvania and put any state in the web address (I'm very familiar with this craptastic site) you will see the same site, same puppies etc.... It's an online puppymill...every puppy comes from a puppymill....
