| WHAT is she doing to him??? Our Yorkie, Puff, is 14 months old. We also have a 6 year old spayed female lab mix and a 5 year old neutered male Cavalier. When Puff was around 4 months old she would occasionally lift her back leg as if she was going to pee on Luke, the Cavalier. Now she bothers him fairly often-she climbs all over him and it looks like she's trying to hug him. She has even climbed up on him and laid down. This morning I found her sitting on his face! Luke doesn't react to anything she's done so far but I know there have been times that he just wants her to leave him alone.. I would love to know why she does this and if there's an effective way to get her to stop. Luke is the only one she's ever done this to. Any thoughts...

| I don't know. My parents have 2 neutered cavaliers and Huey climbs all over them, too, but when they get tired of him, they tell him. If he doesn't catch on, they tell him again, punctuated by a snap/growl (never close enough to actually make contact; they would never hurt him, it is just communication to a hard headed little annoying yorkie!) Huey will understand and lay off for a while.

| Thanks Marilyn! Maybe this has never happened to anyone else?

| My male yorkie does this to my female yorkie. He gets on top of her and wraps her arms around her and just "snuggles" her. No humping or anything like that... it's almost like he's hugging her or trying to pull her back or something... it's weird!! I can't seem to get him to stop though... sorry, that's no help! |

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | My Miah use to do this to me or shall I say me feet. She would stand over my feet with one leg up as if she was getting ready to pee on me. I took it as a way of guarding me. I never have found out what that meant. She doesn't do it any more. It sounds to me as if your pup just loves him and wants to be close to him. On the other hand what you describe are things that you would typically see pups doing to their mothers or to other litter mates. Sound like your lab has taken the place of her mamma and siblings.

| Awww, maybe it is that she just loves him. They do have a special relationship. I never saw him play with another pup-ever-until we had had her for a while. She would chew on him, walk on him, bark in his face and just appear to be terrorizing him until one morning he took off running after her with his tail wagging. Now its something they do every morning-they take turns chasing each other all over the upstairs and I swear he grins the whole time! Thanks for the suggestions!
