| Doll face puppy pictures For those with doll faced adults, can you post pictures of your Yorkies from 12 weeks and up. I see a female yorkie I like but unsure if she's doll faced. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I don't know what a doll faced adult looks like, I am not sure if it is a real term and I also don't think you can fully tell what any wee pup will turn out like. Can you post a picture of what you mean as a doll face adult?

| When I was searching for my puppy, I looked at the parents/grandparents for an idea of how the puppy would mature. Also, after looking a hundreds of puppy pictures, Max's picture jumped out at me and said that he was the one.

| Doll faced, short snout aka brachycephalic dogs are bred by unethical breeders who cares nothing about the breed's health but only cares about $$$. They have breathing problems, reverse sneezes all the time, their tongue is too big for their small mouths, they can even faint, eyes always weepy...I have a short snout Yorkie & he suffers everyday.

Yorkies should not be bred to a short or squashed in nose, at all. There are different esthetics to the nose in the show world. Some maybe a tad shorter than others, but no breeder I know deliberately breeds for doll faced! As the muzzle length shortens, anatomically speaking the passageways up through the nose canal shortens, not to mention you have just shortened the jaw! Where do all those teeth fit into? And unless you widen the jaw you are going to have a lot of bite problems. If you widen the jaw through your breeding program, then you change the whole head shape....

Donating YT 30K Club Member | My Pixie has what is sometimes referred to as a baby doll face. I love her look. She does not have the extreme doll face. She wasn't bred especially for this either.

| I see all kinds of faces in the show ring and some do have the shorter muzzles. Some people would consider them doll faces but that is just not a term you are suppose use in the show world. I know of one top winning bitch that had a beautiful face with a shorter muzzle. To me a doll face is just a dog with a little short muzzle with the correct muzzle placement. Many yorkies have to long of a muzzle with a down faced look and that just is not a pretty as a dog with a proper head.

Doll-faced is usually a term that greeders that breed very very tiny dogs together no matter their health or genetic problems in order to produce very juvenile-looking tiny dogs with big heads, flatter muzzles and larger eyes atop a tiny body and very short legs. It is so often used in that way that it can be heartbreaking to sometimes even see the term for those that have read and heard and experienced the many health problems of the very tiny dog. Doll-faced dogs are frequently undersized and can be from disreputable breeders so be sure that the dog you are getting is not going to be an undersized dog unless you are financially and emotionally prepared to deal with the issues that could come with the dog. And be sure you are not dealing with a puppy broker, greeder or puppymiller.

In my breed we have ratios or proportions for muzzle length, to cranium, to neck length to head over all size. Head is very important in our breed. We also have DQ's on teeth as well as major faults on teeth. Anything other than a scissor bite is a DQ. So I digress yet again....

| You can get a doll faced yorkie without paying a doll faced price by finding a good breeder and looking for a pup with a short muzzle. My Jewels has a short muzzle and I just paid $900 for her she wasnt advertised doll faced she just had those features
