| The YTCA standard does not specify height. It does describe a box like structure meaning length from neck to base of tail should equal height from floor to topline. Some breeders/exhibitors have said they prefer their females to be slightly longer because they tend to whelp easier. There are a couple of grand champions here on YT who measure in the 10 - 11 inch range. One of the exhibitors told me that the typical height of show Yorkies tends to vary by region. Some judges prefer shorter legs, others prefer longer. The Yorkies at Westminster tend to be taller. Max & Teddy are 11.5 inches tall.

| All the dog shows I've been to that tall ones look nicer because the full coat. But they still need to be proportionate. So usually the leggy ones and longer necks is what the breeders I know try to get. But at the same time lady near her bitch came third at the Westminster and she was a shorty... I don't care what they look like. But I want them to be active and have a little muscle.I think they keep them to skinny...But at the sametime you don't want your dog over weight either |

| The Westminster Kennel Club | 2013 Breed Results: Yorkshire Terrier The open bitch for Topknot . I saw her at the Dog show when I was looking to get a Border Terrier. She was a puppy then. She had such a cutie face I lost interest in the little man dog and got a Yorkie. She is a Small one. |

I remember walking up to my boys' breeders' home and being shocked when we met their sire. He seemed really thin to me because I was accustomed to pet Yorkies who had probably had a few too many treats.

| The best I can tell (he is so wiggly it's hard to measure) Barney is 10.5 inches from shoulder to floor. He is a little over 9 inches long. He is tall and skinny. I am pretty sure he would be an awesome basketball player with his amazing height. Anna has short little legs, around 6.5 inches tall, a long body 9 inches, and she is a full pound heavier than Barney. I am 5'2" tall, but I don't want to share my width. |

| Draco is still a puppy, just measured him though he was taller but he's 6.5in from the shoulder and 10.5in long. Hoping he still has another growth spurt in him to square him out, lol. He's 5 months, my little weiner boy haha. I wish there was more info in heigh/length than weight. I don't care how much Draco will weigh as an adult as long as it's healthy for him but so curious as what his dimensions will be.
