| Dehydrating Food For My Dogs I just started dehydrating food for our dogs. I've been giving them chicken and beef so far. They love it. I just put a little seasoning on it and they go crazy. I was buying chicken jerky until I found out that it was made in China and then I threw it out. They really missed it though. Just last week I decided to dehydrate the food myself. It's really great just time consuming. I'm just a little confused on what kind of spices I can use on the food to give it flavor. I was going to buy the Biscuit maker to make my own dog biscuits but my dogs really arent into biscuits at all. |

| I think it's great that you are making your own treats and such for your pups. I just don't trust my kitchen skills, but I admire those of you that do this.

| That's really great that you do this for your babies. Just be careful with the seasoning, because of the salt that most have.

| So far I've been using chicken breasts and steak. The dogs love it. You don't need any kitchen skills. All you need is a dehydrater. You put the food in the dehydrater and it does it all. I don't have kitchen skills at all. It's so easy. Not only do the dogs get good food, I don't have to give them treats. My dogs are poor eaters but they love treats this take care of both and I know what they're eating. |

| no seasoning needed. Maggie loves her dehydrated chicken. It is her favorite thing. She does't like many treats. Keep in mind, most chicken breast you buy in the store already has salt added, they inject that "solution" to make it moister and to make you pay more because the solution makes it heavier. |

| I just bought a dehydrator too so I could make jerky treats for my two furballs! So far, I've only tried fruites... It'd be great if you guys have any recipes or ideas about different treats to share! |

| It's really not hard to do. All you have to do is cut the meat or veggie and then put them in a low temp oven for a few hours. I do chicken and sweet potatoes. You just have to remember that they are going to shrink during the dehydrating process so cut them bigger and thicker. |

Yayyyy, it just takes a wee tiny bit of effort. I don't understand why the shops don't stop ordering this stuff when so many pets have died because of it. I roast chicken and give that as well as some locally produced dehydrated stuff. I really like that fact I know the people who are making my dogs food and treats and where they get it from. My dogs got some lovely biscuits for Christmas from a friend and they wouldn't touch them either | |
