| I used one for a long time but always found them hard to clean and messy. When we moved Callie had to use a regular water bowl for about a week and she seemed to like it better plus it was so easy to clean and put fresh water in, I clean it every day.

| I have 2 fountains. After using one for many months, I bought another because I thought it would be easier to clean/maintain. My pups loved using both of them, but it is a hassle to maintain. I switched back to bowls about a month ago & it's been a lot easier for me. I also feel better about giving my pups fresh water multiple times a day.

| I suspect my Tibbe would be suspicious of such a thing and spend a lot of time yorkietalking to it but he gets fresh water at least twice a day and seems to do well. I too would think it would be hard to change, clean and keep up.

YT 1000 Club Member | I have a tertiary Filtering System. City Water is primarily filtered by a Whole House Filter, then again Filtered at the Kitchen Sink Cold Water side, then that feeds a third filter, which is for Drinking Water. I know that seems a bit redundant, but after the last big Storm, the City let some pumps go down for our Water. That put a possible back feed into the system of some seriously bad water, and I just wanted to make very sure me and my guys were safe.

YT 1000 Club Member | HA HA, I put Ice Cubes in their Bowl too... But My Junior Male Ichabod won't let them stay long enough to cool the water down. He eats them as fast as I can put um in.

| My parents have one for their cat. When they started puppy sitting Bentley we put a separate water dish out for him with his food. As soon as he found the cat's water fountain he started using that to drink and would not touch his private water bowl right next to his food. Now when he's at my parent's for a visit we just put out food and he walks over to the other side of the kitchen for water. It's cute he does not drink out of the bowl part, drinks right out of the fountain part. I don't have one at home though. Not a plug in the spot I like to have his dishes.

I have something similar to this, but a lot larger. I'm not sure how many gallons it holds, but it's more than 2. I have to have a lot of water out because Shelby-Dale is so big. I love being able to pop out the little filter and put a new one in. Easy breezy. This is the one I have (4 gallons): Amazon.com: Replendish Waterer 4 Gal Pearl White:...

| I have 3 fountains. 2 petmate and 1 drinkwell. The petmates are a pain to deal with because cleaning is hard and the plastic seems to stain. I mainly use just the one for my cat now and the other one I don't even use anymore. The drinkwell I have is the the drinkwell 360 stainless steel and I love it and so do my furkids!! They love drinking right from the fountain and being stainless steel it keeps the water cool and fresh. It is also very easy to clean compared to the petmate. Literally takes me about 2 minutes to thoroughly clean all the parts. It is large though so I'm not sure if you would want it for just one dog. If you do get a water fountain find a stainless steel one. They hold up much better and are healthier for them anyways.
