| well many prayers for a safe procedure. do you have onsies..? i believe people use those in replacement of cones to keep from licking. also do you have mineral oil in the house....or double check with your vet when you pick her up as she may have trouble pooping in a day or two...the stomach muscles are sore and the mineral oil helped keylo pass her bowl movement easier......

| Just seeing this post and so happy for you that your baby came through it ok. I certainly understand your nerves. Princess Sophie goes in next week and I am already starting to be concerned. I've been through this with other female dogs we have had but Yorkies are so small. So happy for you both!! Blessings!!

| Glad to see Honey came thru the procedure well. When Mandie was spayed, I didn't have a onsie so I used a tshirt on her. It worked because when she would bend to try to lick (which she really never did), the shirt would bend with her and go down..keeping the stitches covered. What I had and needed was: Medicine syringe or dropper, pedialyte, mineral oil, nutrical, chicken broth. She wouldn't eat at first but when I drizzled chicken broth over her kibble, she ate (didn't wet the kibble..just drizzled enough really to get the "smell factor" lol). I used the syringe and pedialyte until the next day, then she drank on her own. I gave her some nutrical the first day because she wasn't eating much. The mineral oil, I got because she got constipated (probably from the meds). I put a little bit (like an 1/8 tsp) on some of her kibble pieces and fed her. You can also rub a small amount on her booty.

| So glad Keke is okay and she'll be home tonight where she can gets lots of TLC. Love her and pamper her and she should be fine. It's so scary to walk out that vet door and leave them the morning of surgery, isn't it? Worst thing in the world to try to have a normal day when your baby is undergoing surgery! So glad it's all behind both of you. Way to go, Keke!!!
