| both yorkies sick so i got another yorkie in april, it took a while but they both are good buddies now, 2 nights ago my female yorkie got sick.. vomiting multiple times, collapsing next to her water dish, barley moved all day, she got over it and was fine. today i woke up to the male vomiting, same thing, he barely moved all day, seemed as if he had a sore stomach...by the night he was fine and playing again, they share the same food pile(they won't eat our of a dish ,but thats a problem of its own i need to work on) and drink out of the same dish.. i've never owned 2 dogs before, so is it normal for illness to pass from sibling to sibling like in humans?... they never ate anything different that i know of and there is uaully someone always keeping an eye on them....just wondering for those of you with multiple yorkies if it is normal to pass from sibling to sibling like this. they are full blooded brother and sister.the only thing different is i put them in a playpen, i connected 2 superyards together and put them in it outside.. they just sniffed around though .. i can't figure out why this happened |

| My boys had a 24-hour stomach bug a couple years ago. First Teddy, then the next day Max. I believe they both picked it up on our walks. Whenever a dog is lethargic, collapsing, and vomiting, that calls for an emergency vet visit. I'm glad your pups are okay.

| I do think they can get a bug at the same time, but it could also be some reaction to the food. With those symptoms and them both having them...I would probably take them into the vet just to get them checked out. Praying it is just a bug and they are feeling back to normal.

| Thanks, they are doing great now hyper and playful as can be,how would they pick it up from a walk? I took them for their first walk together before all this happened, never thought that could cause it? n yes i did call the vet ,they said keep food away and make sure they are drinking plenty of water until it passes thats what i did, they dont eat human food and have been both on the same dog food always..i stayed right next to each one when it happened, forced them to drink lots of water, it passed for both of them within 12 hrs, then suddenly they woke up from it felt all better ate lots of their dog food and played ,was so weird , i guess just another new experience with owning 2 yorkies lol, these past few months have been a lot of work, but they are so worth every bit of it, everyday gets a little easier, scary having then both sick just so thankful it went away u realize how much they are your whole world when something like that happens |
