| I totally understand why someone would want to clone a loved pet. The only problem I see is finding a pet that is free of health issues & diseases to clone, otherwise it's just repeating the heartbreak of the last one. I missed my Chelsea soooo much after she passed. I would have cloned her in a heartbeat had the option been available. But, she died from complications of CT, so she suffered at the end. I wouldn't want to bring another dog into the world KNOWING it would suffer at some point.

| I don't see how cloning would work other than to make the dog the same in appearance. Disposition would be influenced by experiences, so the dog couldn't possibly be exactly the same. For me, there can only be one Max & Teddy. It would be harder on me dealing with the loss to have a clone.

| I don't have the problem with the idea of cloning itself, but I do with the surrogate mothers since a dog can't give consent to carry a child from artificial insemination like a human can. Plus being an early adopter of a technology like that is never good not only because of the price, but also the failure rate before the technology matures. |

Also there are other dogs out there in need of a good home and that can be as good or better than your beloved dog who passed away, why wouldn't you want to give them a good home instead of trying to live in the past.

Senior Yorkie Talker | Agree totally with this comment, I wouldn't clone any of mine, but one of the reasons for breeding Molly and Merlin was so a little bit of them would live on... and Mickey is the double look wise to Merlin when he was that age, even down to the little white patch on his chest, the other pups Daisy is a Molly (clone) lol noisy like her mammy too, and Louie and Holly both have traits of Merlin and Molly, looks and behaviour. Can't wait to see pics of little Lottie and get an update story

| I also think science is science and things can go terribly wrong ,nothing is fool proof. Then what do you end up with a messed up dog that reminds you of your cloned dog and you love it bc you agreed to clone it so your stuck with the deformities or health issues and heart ache. It's knida not fair to the dog....I wouldn't want anyone cloning me! lol that would just be scary!!!

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | I agree that is both. Good genes. But also the experiences that the puppy would have would be different then what they would have now. Still would be different dog in my book. Also Galen's breeder and his parents made him a well adjusted little pup when I got him. He would not be that pup. I am adding to the way he is. IMO

| All I can say is I'm glad the rest of the my time on this earth is short...I am sick to death of people playing God, now to defeseless animals...Dear Lord please don't let them clone me, I'm worn and tired and certainly don't want to do it all over again...When this world is perfect, then we can think of cloning...this to me is just disgusting, as was Dolly the lamb. Imagine the cloning debates down the line..."Cloning for all" discriminating againts the right to clone...inhumane not to clone my brother Charlie Manson...etc....uggghhhh....
