| Speaking of TICKS ... UGH All this talk of ticks... Went to Gettysburg this past weekend for Memorial Day with the family. Took Jackson like we always do. We decided to do a walk through the battlefields, about 2-3 miles or so. We left and went out to eat at an outdoor restaurant and I look at my stepdad's shirt and he has like 3 ticks crawling on him. I was like OMG and helped pick them off. Then one crawled out of my HAIR! Then I start spotting them on Jackson. I kinda felt something crawling on me, lifted up my jean pant leg and there's one on my knee. AHHH. Omg we left and I immediately stripped down and I flipped my pants inside out and there was like 7 ticks crawling around IN MY PANTS!! In the end, my step-dad probably pulled like 20 off him (they weren't attached yet tho, just crawling), I pulled like 10 off me, and easily 20 off Jackson. They just were never ending. Hours later I kept being like 'oh, there's another one' on Jackson. Even the next morning, I found 3 more. The walk was on Sunday and it's now Tuesday and I found another on Jackson's leg!! Anyway, my step-mom had the mobile groomer coming for her dogs and I had Jackson shaved up again today even though it's only been like 4 weeks since he was groomed last. She found one more but said she didn't see any others!! So hopefully they are all gone! GROSSEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. OH GOD. I am still itchy.

| OH YUCK!!!!! My cousin & I went for a walk a few years back and same thing happened!!! YUCK!!!! Heebie Jeebies all night after that! We've been hiking now and I haven't found one tick, on me, the dogs or hubby .... amazing! Front line works but I also, every once in awhile, sprinkle a small amount of granulated garlic on their food and they eat it. It really does help! Next time I walk in the woods, I'm going to eat garlic the day before! LOL

| Ticks OMG, what a terrible experience, you must have walked on a tick farm! Almost as bad a story as the nasty spider with babies on its back. You must be dreaming about the little horrors, I know I am scratching here. Ugh! Hope they are all gone now. |

| We always had to deal with ticks when we went to visit Grandma and Grandpa on the farm so I'm very familiar with them. The thing is though that anytime I think of them my skin just starts to crawl. LOL We dropped our daughters off to visit at the Grandparents house for a week when our youngest was about five years old and my Mom saw a tick inside my youngest's ear. She didn't want to say anything because she was afraid Jackie would freak out so she and my Dad took Jackie into the house and got a pair of tweezers and removed the tick. Well, Jackie wanted to know if it was a tick and said "was it suckin my blood?" Grandparents just couldn't help but laugh. "Was it suckin my blood?" It's a favorite family story now that she's grown up. LOL

| Oh my goodness!! I could not take it... All of this tick talk has me paranoid! I've been checking my two like a maniac. We don't really have a tick problem around here, but I'm scared! Gross, they were climbing up your pants??? Oh gosh... It's like the Walking Dead, but with ticks... Ewwww

| And of course... after reading this thread, I felt the need to check Magnus as soon as I got home. His body seemed okay and I flipped him over to check and there it was... It was so freak'n small, I thought it was one of his freckles or maybe a scab. I had to get a flashlight and magnifying glass. Poked at it few times and I saw those creepy legs wiggling. Damn thing attached itself right below where his "jewels" were. Poor baby was good and stayed still through the whole process though. |

| The family that picks ticks together, stays together. lol Glad you had fun in Gettysburg, but the ticks sound like a nightmare. I think I will stay out of our woodsy Civil War battlefields down here.
