| Yorkie Hairstyles/Cuts with a little rant All of the posts I saw regarding this were years old, and i'd like something a little updated. Chewy is 10 weeks old, not only is he my first yorkie ever, he's my first dog EVER! My mother didn't care for dogs, so I decided when I got older and could afford a dog I would get a yorkie because of their personalities. Well here I am 26 years old with my new baby and I just have so many questions!! One of my favorite things about having a yorkie is my ability to baby him, baths, hair styling, his little rain outfits, etc. However I suppose while brushing him I didn't realize he had mats in his fur, and when I did I decided to look up groomers. Also I live in Louisiana, if you have ever been in south louisiana, the heat and humidity are pretty bad. So i decided a shorter cut, I read reviews of awful places in my area, and refused to entertain the idea. But someone talked me into going to petsmart for his first groom. The woman informed me that he has mats and they'll work them out and also that he's too young to be fully groomed with a cut, which made me wonder why it was going to be $40. But whatever. Until I picked him up. The groomer had shaved him completely. Just a little bitty bit of hair on his head. The rest was shaved so far down he had bald spots! The informed me that they couldnt get the mats out and had to shave him. I was beyond mad. So i'm currently waiting for chewys hair to grow out as I have found a seemingly better groomer. However aside from the puppy cut, are there any other shorter cuts, designer maybe? Chewy comes to work with me at my family owned business with my husband. He even wears little bitty company shirts! So he has to look spiffy lol. Right now he looks like a schnauzer bred with a chinese crested, hairless dog . Any examples would be greatly appreciated!! Also, I was looking into buying him some bows online. He's roughly 1-2lbs right now and wasnt sure if anyone knew the size of bands to buy to attach to his bows. Again, any help would be amazing <3 Thank you! <3 Here are 2 pictures, before and after, you can tell he doesn't much care for it either. The pictures are literally a week apart, the first one he's wearing his boy scout shirt Sooo cute |

Senior Yorkie Talker | Oh bless him, he really does have a cute little face, and his hair will grow that is the good thing about it, I'm not sure I wouldnt like to see the "full groom" they would do, scary thought, I would have went mad too, it took for Merlin to have a few bad hair cuts to find a great groomer, all 4 of mine have different types of hair that needs groomed different, Mickey the youngest even tho he's brushed daily he gets little matts that can get like little dred locks, but will wait a while till he gets his first cut, for puppies I like the wild look lol

| he is adoorable but I can relate to a bad grooming exp. I once had a mobile groomer come to the house and she took Daisy inside and completely shaved her I was omg!!!Daisy was cut so close. She left no hair on the ears and no hair on her beard. Daisy looked like camel Joe!! lol

| Even tho Chewy is short haired now you might "pretend" brushing and combing him every day so he is used to it when his hair does grow in. |

| Aw, man, I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I prefer shorter cuts for the most part, but your little guy is totally naked. Poor thing. Luckily it grows back! Jackson's first puppy cut was just a trim, and I did not brush him very good, so I know he had mats but they still didn't shave him I keep my boy short, he's a bigger guy at 16lbs, so this cut just works for him. He's also very active. I never have to brush him (occasionally I'll brush his tail or mustache, but only once a week) and he gets professionally groomed every 8 weeks or so. Sometimes more in the summer.
