| Bella's berry patch. Little Bella is 16 weeks old now and hasn't been to the groomer's yet because we're waiting for the final puppy vaccinations. She's getting a little shaggy, and the longer her hair gets, the more she retains *ahem* "berries" in the hair on her rear end. Every few days when I remember, I turn her over to have a careful look to see if she is retaining any berries. Last night, I had my partner turn her over and I picked up her tail to take a peek. There were two mummified berries clinging to her fur. I held my breath, reached in, and pulled them out of her fur--they were stuck in really well, matted into the hair, but Bella was a trooper and didn't complain as I pulled them out along with a few hairs. I showed them to my partner, who grimaced, and I told him that they must have been there for weeks because they were so dry! He got very offended with me and told me that they weren't there after her bath on Wednesday because he ALWAYS washes there thoroughly. I told him, "Oh, is that why the berries look so pale and clean?" and rolled on the floor, laughing hysterically. He angrily told me, "Well, if you think you can do a better job, why don't you bathe her?" I told him, "Sure, if you pull out the berries!" He said, "No way!" so we decided to keep our assigned roles--he is the bather, and I am the berry picker. |

BANNED! | Lol aww. My Bella is 12 weeks and lately "berries" lol were really getting matted in the fur on her backside. So today I took her to petco for a sanitary cut, it's $10! They shaved the fur around that region and it looks soo much better. The lady said that it only has to be done once a month. Lol no more berries! |

| Hee hee!!!! When Harry's 'botty part' gets a bit shaggy and potentially messy, I trim around it with those round-ended baby scissors? He actually lifts his tail up now when he sees me coming with them.... Happy berry-picking! Sally + Harry x |

BANNED! | Oh I understand, Bella hasn't had all the vaccines yet cause of age. But I had a very serious berry situation lol! So what I did was call & spoke w/the groomer, she advised me that there were no other dogs there & the appt was only 10 mins. So I took her in, stayed 10 mins and turned around and took her right back out. She waited in the car while I shopped for her. So for 10 mins & no more berries, I had too lol. Plus, she knew I was worried about the vaccines & took me right before they closed with no other dogs around. I am pleasantly surprised how good my local petco is w/working customers |

BANNED! | Also, I won't cut her hair yet that's going to take me awhile. She just had her bum shaved and nails filed down/ears cleaned. I'm not giving her a haircut foreverrr lol. Love her fur & I want it long. If u know how to do it yourself, then def go for it! I love how clean it is back there. No more dragging her bum across my carpet lol. | I've had my new baby boy Ragnar for seven days now. He has such a poofy butt that he's had four "booty baths" already. The vet gave me a prescription of clavamox as a preventative, because he had a slight cough,so his stool is soft right now. He was frightened by the first bath, but I actually think he enjoyed his fourth one today.Next project is to get him used to having his teeth brushed. |
