| Bentley neutered tomorrow OK Porkie jokes aside. (See http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...-nuts-lol.html if you don't understand the reference.) Bentley will be having his neutering done tomorrow. I was hoping to put it off a bit longer, but it's not fare to the cat (Nutter) who has been around much longer. Bentley is getting more and more forceful with her. Has not mounted her yet, but think it has to do with her massive size. He just like to chase her and nip at her belly or butt. And even worse he is pinning her down by hopping on her. Nutter is about 7 years old and is the Dame of the house, so she finds this behavior just abhorring. Called the vet today and much to my surprise (me yea, but image him tomorrow) they have a spot available. So no pun intended I hopped right on the chance. As my bf put it tomorrow when it's all done I'll have Nutter and Nuttless. Keep us in your thoughts tomorrow. Any post op advice for care would be appreciated. Plan on going out tonight to get him a new bully coil since he's demolished the other one so bad it got thrown out last night so he has something new to keep him occupied when he gets home tomorrow evening. This is the first dog I've been responsible for so I really don't know what to expect. I was a kid when our last male dog was neutered, other than sneaking out to the payphone at school to call the vet to see how Toby was doing (think I was around 8) I really don't remember much else.

| Oh poor Bentley! It has to be done! I know the boys recover quickly. When Dex was done he was back to his bad a$$ self that night and it took everything in my power to keep him calm & quiet! haha Hope Bentley is fully recovered and Nutter is enjoying life at home a little bit more now!

Donating YT 500 Club Member | How did Bentley do with his neuter? How old is he? Our vet has recommended having Jasper neutered at 6 mos. He is 19 weeks old now. These babies are so tiny. Ugh I will be a nervous wreck on that day!!!

| Sorry, just noticed there were replies to this thread. There was nothing leading up to it so I completely forgot lol. BAD YT'er. lol Bentley is doing fine. He did fantastic. He of course was pitiful when we got him home. He wandered around at first because he could not get comfortable. As soon as he finally settled down I picked him up and put him in my bed. Only thing that worried me that night was he all of a sudden started to shiver. He's never had sugar problems but I gave him some neutracal just to be on the safe side. He slept comfortably all night. Me I think I woke up every hour to make sure he was ok. Next morning he was eating good and even a little playful. He was moving DD's sneakers around so I knew he was fine. Slept most of the day and then that even BOOM just as the vet predicted he was back to his old self. They used the surgical glue so I didn't have to bring him back to the vet for removal and of course no worry about him pulling his stitches. Bentley will be 6 month's tomorrow so he was about 5.5 months when I had it done. The vet was fine with even doing it sooner. He did wonderful and the vet gushed over how smart he is and how great he did. So that made me a proud mommy.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | So happy to hear that hes doing so good. I know these spay and neuters are routine, put putting these little ones under makes me nervous. I'm dreading it for Jasper. Thanks for mentioning the shivering. I wonder if that was from the anesthesia maybe?

I gave the neutracal as a precaution. I'm sure Jasper will do fine when the time comes for him. I was so worried, but Bentley did great. When I was paying for his surgery after the fact even the receptionist said he did great and that he was highly entertained by all the other dogs going in and out of the back area.
