| oil for dry ears? Hi! This morning I pulled the excess hair from all three dog's ears and rinsed them with my usual solution of 50% white vinegar, 50% distilled water. This was the first time I had done Callie's since she came to live with us. I noticed the the inside of her ears was rather dry and flaky. She hasn't been scratching or shaking her head, so I don't think it is anything except dry skin. None of my other dogs have ever had this so I wasn't really sure what to do for her. Is this common to yorkies, or just a Callie thing?! And, would it be ok to put olive oil or baby oil or even coconut oil in her ears? Just to rub around where it is dry? thoughts appreciated!!

| You could try rubbing a little coconut oil on the dry parts. If the flaking continues, I would have the vet take a look.

| Thanks Kristin! I think I will try the cocoanut oil. And thanks for the link also. So Callie is not alone! She has a vet check appointment on Tuesday. Will definitely ask him about it.
