| Scardy cat...uh...dog vs. just neurotic Oh my...Huey has a strong aversion to spray bottles of any kind, I know. He despises when I spray him with detangler or his cologne, but I bought him some Petrodex dental spray yesterday, and nearly lost a finger this morning trying to spray his teeth! Wow...he was like Cujo! I may just spray it on his toothbrush next time...I dont know why he is so scared of spray bottles. I have never used them as a deterrent or teaching tool, but the behavior he exhibited was fear, not anger. The weirdo is also scared of power cables-which he has never had a bad experience with since I got him at 7.5 weeks old-and I realized yesterday that he is scared of potty pads, too. When at the store, I bought some potty pads, which we havent tried since he shredded every one I put down for him as a puppy. The reason I bought them is he has 2 places in the house where he still likes to potty, despite natures miracle spray and frequent cleaning, so I covered the 2 spots with a puppy pad each to see what hapens. What happens is, if his squeaky toy lands on the pad, he is very timid about retrieving it, to the point of sitting and staring at the toy as he debates the safety of the pad. He will get the toy if he can reach it without putting more than one foot on the pad, otherwise, he gets a different toy to play with. On a positive note, he hasn't pottied on either spot since the pads went down. My dog is a neurotic weirdo...probably because he left mom too early...who knows.

| Poor little guy! That's wierd that he's scared of potty pads. Hopefully he'll get used to them being there and go on them.

| Yeah, I don't know where that came from. He hasn't seen one in 3 years. Even better, maybe he will just stay scared of where the pottypad is and quit peeing there! He is good about going outside except for those 2 places, and he is a stealth pottier there. He manages to potty in those 2 spots several times a week without being caught in the act, little brat.

| LOL - they can be such weirdos. Jackson has some weird fears too. Most are kinda justified but they still make me Ok the sound called 'Alert' on the iPhone... no idea why but he's terrified of it. If it ever goes off, he will leave wherever he's laying down or whatever, and slowly slink into another room (usually under the bed). He's absolutely terrified of it. No other sound bothers him - just this particular one. We had a little tray that sat in our living room forever (like a TV stray but it stands by itself on the floor) and it got knocked over one day... for probably 4 months, he wouldn't come into the living room. And he was so frustrated because he really WANTED to be there and he would sit like 10ft away and whine, but not come in. He would start to get over it and then something would happen where my brother would accidentialy barely touch it with his foot (it made a small squeaking noise) and then he'd be terrified again. We finally just got rid of it. My mom set the smoke alarm off once after something was in the oven that she didn't know about. So now he's afraid of smoke (i.e. if we're outside by the fire pit, he backs far away) because he always thinks the smoke alarm will go off. I swatted a fly one time and now he's absolutely terrified of that. To the point that if he sees a bug inside, he will go slink away and go under the bed because he thinks I'm going to smash it. I have not killed a bug with him in the room in years, but he still can't seem to forgive and forget. But basically he remembers EVERYTHING. He will hold on for years once something happens. He still freezes up by the petsmart registers because at 9 months old, I took him to get his nails cut in the grooming area and traumatized him. He will be 5 this year. Yes. He's a quirky one.

Peanut is deathly scared of the smoke alarm! It needed new batteries one time it went off like every 5 mins or so. Every time it went off he would shake and run into the closet!! Ok that is strange right GET THIS ONE, a smoke alarm went off on a show we were watching I think it was Teen Mom. In the background I heard the loud BEEP, well apparently Peanut heard it and looked up at the TV and started shaking and ran in to the closet!!!! Really? LOL
