| San Diego helping to stop puppymills The city council is voting to ban the sell of all dogs, cats and rabbits from pet stores. Wish the entire country would do this.

| It has to start somewhere before it catches on. I'm so happy that it's now getting started. We could help by making lots of copies of what puppy mills are and hand them out near a pet store that sells dogs and cats.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | A few years ago, I would have been happy about this, but now they just sell them directly over the internet. The bad news is that dogs sold in pet stores must be from kennels that are inspected, however, dogs sold over the internet need not be from kennels that have ever had any inspections. So closing down the petstores doesn't really help with puppy mills, we must change the laws regarding kennel conditions and also inform everyone to always visit the breeder's home in person. Don't buy directly over the internet, you are sure to be buying from a puppy mill.

| too bad kijiji and craigslist don't put a stop to it though. If we make it harder for those seedy greedy breeders to have a customer base it would be better. |
