| One floppy ear My pups ears were both up until today. Now one is flopping down. Is this common for this to happen? Do you think it has gotten heavy with hair? Do I need to shave it and tape it or leave it alone and it will pop back up?

| that's similar to what happened to my puppy - louis, he's 4 months. up until 2 weeks ago both his ears were up -- they've been up for awhile, but then last week, one came down and then 2 days later, they're both down! someone told me that it's because my puppy is lazy? i don't know about that...well i'm glad u brought this up -- i'd like to see the replies. |

| If your puppy is teething the ears will go up and down..even if its just one ear. Sometimes they come back up and other times they don't it really depends on the dog. They say if you massage the cartilage and help stimulate blood flow sometimes that helps them perk back up. If your puppy is only 4 months or so then I wouldnt be to alarmed they will go up and down because of teething and also sometimes when they lose their baby teeth! |

| I like the floppy ears too. He just kinda looks funny with one up and one down. I tried to tape it but he just pulled it out.

| Our FiFi isn't a puppy, she's about 7 years old. But when we first got her (in 2002) she held both her ears up most all the time. Then about a year ago she started letting the right one down and keeping the left one up. Sometimes she'll raise them both, sometimes they're both down. But mostly she's got one ear up and one ear down! She's healthy so don't know why she does that. |
