| Help, new to this... Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and have so many questions. The first of course is how or where can I find a show quality puppy? I am looking for my first yorkie, (I have wanted one since I was a child). However I also want to learn to show it as well. I have had the hardest time trying to find a good pup at a reasonable price. I also worry because in the states surrounding my there are so few breeders (almost none) and if I do find one or two they tend to fall into the back yard breeder concept. I also would prefer not to ship, but if I have to I would like to make it a quick easy flight. If anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it. Brandi |

| I live in Idaho and I have looked through the AKC and Capital City Kennel Club to find a local breeder and I have had no luck. I live in a town named Caldwell about 20 miles outside of Boise and there seems to be no yorkies at all in the area. Thanks for your help. Brandi |

| show dog Hi Brandi and wellcome! Lots of good info here If you are looking for a "show dog" it will not be easy. You can not tell if a puppy is going to be good in the ring. You need to wait until they are months old. I loved when I showed . I was lucky to have a nice little girl. You could get in touch with the Yorkie Club and see if they can help. Maybe go to a dog show and ask a beeder there. If you like their dogs they might have puppies coming up? Good luck and be very careful

| Hi Jane, I would really like that contact information if you would please. I realize that not all dog can be show dogs, but I would love to learn and try to get there. I am willing to take the time and any advice that is offered. I have been to a few shows here, but no yorkies at all. Anyway I hope to find one soon, and if nothing else would love a little bundle of fur just to give lots of love to. thanks for your help Brandi |

| Looking for Yorkie Hi Brandi, If you tell us where you are living, maybe someone here can help? I live just outside Windsor, Ontario, Canada. I have seen some in our Windsor News Paper, but be careful when it comes, to News Papers and Pet Stores. But you can find them here in the paper today.

| Hi and welcome to Yorkie Talk I do wish you luck with your search, however, a lot of breeders are reluctant to let show quality dogs go, even when going to someone experienced in the show world. You may want to start attending some shows in your area and try to see if you can get someone to mentor you (I think that is what it's called) So, it may take awhile for you to find that puppy you're looking for, and you might have to drive or fly to get it as well. Also, breeders who think their puppies might be show quality tend to keep them longer. This is a problem for some people as they want to get a puppy when it is still VERY young. Just an FYI. Good luck though! I think it would be so much fun to show! When my husband retires from the Air Force, we'd like to persue that
