| Puppy or monkey?! I swear my Enzo is part monkey!! We bought him a 36 inch high pen thinking he would be more comfortable sleeping in than his small kennel! Boy were we wrong!!Tonight when I put him to bed in what looks like a luxury suite, before my head was even on my pillow he somehow managed to either jump out or climb out of the flipping thing! Holy Hanna! I sure hope either I can get my money back for this sorry excuse of an Alcatraz OR they can weld a roof on it!! I'm stunned this little 6 pound puppy could scale the walls! He mustn't know he's a dog!! Any one have any words of wisdom for me? Last edited by Llutz; 04-18-2013 at 10:32 PM. Reason: Forgot to ask my question :) |

| Lots of people have little climbers on here lol. Maybe you could check out some pens with tops. I have one for Callie that is soft sided and collapsible but it has a mesh zip on top and I love it.

| My 13wk old is a monkey as well. When I put the cover on went to work came home guess who was at the door? Yep. So not only can she climb but she's smart enough to figure out how to get out underneath it as well!! Not sure what I'm going to do as she's not potty trained at all! And she's escaped EVERY pen or area we gave created for her! So yup our not alone in the monkey world. Lol |

YT 2000 Club Member | I am so glad, I don't have a "monkey"! I have heard so many that have yorkies that climb out of these xpens. My three are quit the opposite. Teeka still doesn't jump up on the furniture! If excited, she will jump down from the couch but never from the bed or even down our basement steps. I have never encouraged her to jump up or down. There has been so many with broken legs, knee problems and injuries.....thank goodness I don't have 3 little monkeys! I would invest in a good cover so he doesn't injure himself!

| Enzo has been home a week, and my husband the big tough guy is already a BIG suck when it comes to our new little man! Today when I got home they had just woke up from a nap together! lol We are in desperate need of a playpen/pen for Enzo because obviously we can't be home all the time He needs something with a roof, as he's quite the little escape artist! Please let me know what you use to "kennel" your little ones when you go out. We live in Alberta, Canada so not everything is available to us up here Thanks Last edited by Llutz; 04-19-2013 at 10:02 PM. Reason: Additional info |

| When Huey was little, I had one of these. Precision Pet Silver Exercise Pen with Door - Dog.com I had his crate and potty patch inside it. He never monkeyed over the top, thank goodness, and eventually I just started letting him loose in the bedroom with the bedroom door closed when we left the house (after we got him stairs to get on the bed). The only monkey thing he would do is get into the bottom of the 24 inch high laundry basket and retrieve socks and panties without ever falling in or getting stuck. Never could quite figure out how something so tiny could do that.

| I would try to exchange it for something with a secure top on it. There are several models of X pens that are more secure. The plastic ones that fold up are nice for a tiny pup but once they get a little more advanced they need a more secure setup. |
