| UMMM...is this normal? Sooo...Luma keeps licking Rosie's ladybits. I don't know if this is some kind of strange big-sister dominance thing or what? We wipe Rosie's bottom and privates with a baby wipe (for dogs) once or twice a day. So I know its not that she's messy down there. Like what the heck? I wanted them to be close but Luma apparently has no boundaries! Rosie doesnt even seem to mind. It's when they are snuggling inbetween all the playing that it happens. Does anyone elses girl do this?!

| Trust me, I do tell her no!! Lol. It is weird. Oh, and Luma has been sneaking puppy food...she's gonna get fat! Lol. It's hard to seperate them--they're like glued to each other!

| I know in the wild if the mother is out of the picture, other members of the pack do help clean pups but don't know at what age that stops. It could be something instinctual like that that is driving her. Or she's just keen on the scent and wants to lick it. Since their values are so different from that of humans, it may be like fine perfume to her or something. Just as Taylor recommended, just stop it with an "uh oh" or "no" and soon she will stop herself.

BANNED! | I don't know if its normal but I have a boxer that has an attraction to baby wipes/makeup remover wipes..all of a sudden. For instance, I'll use a wipe on her or her sister Bella & toss it in the garbage. My boxer will find it and start to chew it, it's the weirdest thing. I've googled it and I guess they're attracted to the scent. I would tell her no when you see her doing it. Last edited by Beth Boofa; 04-10-2013 at 08:05 PM. |

| These wipes are unscented since I have always used them on Luma (who has sensitive skin) with no trouble.

YT 500 Club Member | From what I have been told it could be a dominant thing, they could be cleaning the other dog (they say this can happen when two dog are really close to each other), or they are learning more about the other dog. I know this might not be a lot of help but this was all I was told. |

| My dog Cora (3, pom) always cleans Jasper (1, yorkie). But it's more like an OCD trait. She just keeps licking his eyes over and over and over. And he can bare it for a short while but he gets really fed up and goes and hides from her. She does like to clean his coat as well, as she is very clean herself. Always trimming her nails and licking herself. Lol. I don't know if it is normal but I wouldn't say it's down to sexuality or anything. Prob a dominance thing, taking on a mother like role? |

| It is true that even a spayed female will often have enough mother instincts that they will clean up another dog's babies. I raised many a litter of cats and dogs and have seen this happen on several occasions. We even had a male cat that would get in the box with the kittens and wash them and play with them. It's fine and as long as the adult has a true affection for the little one, there is no harm in it.. Once your pup gets older she will tell your female that she can handle things for herself. If it really bothers you of course there is no harm in trying to stop her. She is only trying to be helpful though. |

| Well, I think that is the sweetest thing I've ever heard anyone be concerned about. Sweet big sister (and might even help that she REALLY is her sister) is taking care of the baby. Awww! I don't see how it is hurting anything unless she is licking her raw or something.
