| I use Chris Christensen Day to Day Shampoo and Conditioner and Ice on Ice spray on conditioner. Something I do to get rid of the matts is I comb the hair through when I put the conditioner on then rinse then comb it through again when I put the spray on conditioner on. This works great. I feed my dogs Chicken Soup for the Doglovers Soul. Its one of the best foods and the ingredients are great. Another thing you can do is to sprinkle Missing Link on his food. They sell it at petsmart. It is really good for the coat and skin.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | If your fighting bad matts it may hurt too much to try to get them out and maybe a good haircut is the next step ? When my girls were puppies I had really good luck with Johnsons No More Tangles - you can get it in the Baby Section at most every store - You spray it on and work out tangles with your fingers and a comb - but if the matts are too close to the skin - you may have to cut them out - It may be better to just get a very short haircut - no pain involved that way -and start fresh - keep brushing everyday if you see he/she is prone to matting |

| Given the different textures of coats and the propensity toward matting in some --- aren't we lucky that we have more than one type of haircut. I think the long hair is beautiful ---but there is no doubt that the puppy cut is also darling at any age - and especially appropriate for the little guys with unruly difficult hair. | http://www.sitstay.com/store/health/shampoo2.shtml I ordered the system kit for $10 which gives you 1 of everything you need. Even though they are smaller sized, they will last awhile w/ a smaller dog like a yorkie.
