| You can talk to your vet about something to make her sleepy but make sure you try it once before you fly to make sure she has no reactions to it.

| I travel all the time on a plane with a Yorkie and they typically travel great! I wouldn't give them anything to make them sleepy! If they travel well in a car typically they will travel well under your seat on a plane! I hope this helps! Donna |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I did many years ago. My yorkie was not use to being in a bag so he kept scratching to get out on the way there. He didn't bark though. On the way home the flight attendants let me keep him in my lap and he was fine. I doubt they will let you take them out anymore though. I would try a thundershirt or some Comfort Zone spray. Good luck.

| I just flew in to Philadelphia from O'Hare this weekend. There was the cutest Yorkie on the plane tucked neatly under the seat in his/her carrier barking up a storm as people were boarding the plane. I immediately zeroed on everything I could possibly see because I envisioned myself in this situation soon. As usual, everyone was so smitten with his cuteness, and the fact that he was on the plane, that no one seemed to mind all the barking. After everyone took their seat he settled down and I never heard another peep from him. His Mom had an isle seat so we were walking very close to him as we passed to get to our seats. I don't think he liked that at all and that's what caused all the chaos. After everyone sat down, so did he, and he turned out to be quite a good little traveler. Perhaps you might request a window seat so he won't be affected by all the people boarding the plane and away from the bathrooms where the door opening/closing may startle him. Also, he won't be disturbed by anyone walking to the restroom after takeoff since he'll be away from the isle. I'm sure others who are more experienced will have better suggestions. I just thought I'd share my experience with the sweet little traveler who was on his way to Philly this past Saturday.

| Get the baby used to the bag she will be traveling in...you have a very short time to work on that...start immediately, so she will be familiar with the bag. I put a bully stick in for mine to start the trip with...a new, long one, about 8 inches long so she wont be choking.....then about halfway thru the trip, I will switch out for a Kong toy stuffed with P'nut butter or vienna sausage....between those two, mine usually stay busy and quiet up to 4 ....a little over 4 hours...... |

| Yorkiemom1 is correct. You need to start right away. Put her in the bag, then give her a treat. Take her out, and praise her. Put her back in the bag, then treat her again. Leave her in the bag for longer and longer periods of time. She will learn to associate being in the bag with good things. Feed her lightly before she travels, to discourage motion sickness. Happy Trails!
