| Add another Yorkie? I wonder if there are any of the Yorkie friends that might be able to help me. I am thinking of taking in another yorkie. A male. A friend of mine took him from a family that didn't have time for him and wants to know if I would like him. I think she said he's 9 months old. I have never had more than one Yorkie at a time. I have a female, Abby. She is 4 years old. I have never had a male as I prefer females. I don't know if I would know how to take care of 2 dogs which may sound funny to some as I know there are many on here that have several. Not sure how Abby would feel about another dog being here. She's queen of the house. She sleeps with me and never wakes up during the night so we both get a good nights sleep. Not sure how I would handle 2 of them and if he would also sleep through the night, or would I crate him at night. I'm told he is crate trained. Also there's the issue of the male marking. I really don't want that. I know I have many questions which I haven't asked here, and concerns and was hoping I might find some answers here. Thanks so much for any help and advice you can give me. Jan

| Is he neutered? If so marking in the house most likely will not be an issue. I have a male and a female and tthey are like brother and sister. I will always have 2 and a male and a female. They keep each other company and I have no separation anxiety issues

| Is Abby outdoor potty trained or pad trained, and is the boy trained? I agree with Chachi that if he is neutered, marking probably won't be an issue. Max has an "only child" personality, but he accepted and enjoys the company of a brother. The key is to put Abby first for everything. She can still be queen. If possible, I would introduce the dogs outdoors on neutral territory. Let them work things out between themselves. Don't interfere unless you see something dangerous. We had jealousy issues, but these were worked out fairly easily. Teddy was 8 months old when we brought him home and slept in an xpen next to the bed for a couple months until Max approved having Teddy sleep in the bed. Best wishes in your decision.

| I know nothing about males but I do have 2. Rosie was the queen here too. So I understand that concern. She adjusted just fine to Mikki. It was rough at first but they love each other now. There is nothing better than watching my two play. I love hearing them running through my house playing with each other. The main thing with two is its double the cost for everything. And I also found traveling to be a little more difficult. I can honestly say, the positive out weighs the negative!

| I've been thinking about getting Gracie a little play mate but I will probably wait till she is about 2. She is quite the little house princess and I want her to have time to enjoy all the attention before she has to share. |
