| I am a little crazy about Yorkies [smaller dogs] jumping off furniture. I suppose it depends on the size of the dog. I don't let Calleigh jump from furniture. Their little legs are very breakable. Calleigh has had two surgeries on her left leg and she isn't allowed to jump from anything. She got an ACL tear just taking a walk and interacting with another small dog. I have a friend on here that had an accident when their dog jumped off the couch and broke her leg. I have another friend whose dog is about 10 lbs. Her dog jumps on and off furniture with no problems. I think you have to be extremely careful especially if you own a smaller dog. IMHO.

| HA it was her leg, although when i picked her up she was scared and in pain so she tried to sturggle out of my hands so istead of dropping her for a second fall I took the fall and landed on my knees..so she broke hers and I got all brusied..hand and knees... she will never jump on or off furniture again...my vet/surgeon said she can be prone to fracture where the plate ends. He said small dogs shouldnt be doing it anyway..although it keeps him busy... |
