| "Kicking" Hello!! Just wondering if anyone else's Yorkies "kick" their back legs constantly?! I know it's normal after they poop/pee (which my yorkie, Kinsley doesn't do). Kinsley ALWAYS kicks her back legs at me when playing, when I come home from school, when she wants something, when I'm doing something else and not paying attention to her etc. Is this a dominance thing? A yorkie thing? My moms yorkie, Chanel does it too but not nearly as much as Kinsley! |

| It can be but some dogs do something, like it and just do it habitually without meaning. Just because to some dogs it can represent a dominance trait doesn't mean that your dog is feeling dominant. And dominance is fine as long as the dog doesn't become a behavior problem to you or those he comes into contact with, including other dogs. My sons's male dog tends to be quite dominant but is still very, very well-behaved.

| My Allie is a kicker. She does it all the time. It is not a behavior problem at all with her.

| It's so funny! As I type this Kinsley is kicking at me! Her behaviour is excellent so I'm not worried about any problems! I'll have to get a video and post it |

| It does kind of look like moonwalking! Chanel even whips her head back and forth when she does it! They're so funny. I've never seen any other breed of dog do it! |

| Oscar does it too, it cracks me up, he kicks his front and back legs. I swear it reminds me of a bull thats about to charge!! LOL Not sure why he does it, don't think its a dominance thing more of a playfull ritual.

| Shelby is a kicker too! .......... She does it when she feels "frisky"! Of course, occasionally Seymour will do it, but much slower and kind of like slow motion. ( I think he tries to mimmick Shelb's, but just don't have the coordination! )

| Huey kicks his back legs after potty only when we are not home. To me, it looks like "this is my spot, I marked it. Come on and try to get it". He kicks always at my parents house-they have 2 king charles cavaliers- and when traveling, he always kicks at truck stops/rest stops. Very intermittant elsewhere (but he is a champion at marking everything he sees...)

| Columbo does it after he poops. He will also sometimes do it when he meets a dog when he's on his walk. It depends on the dog, though. |
