| Chunky monkey? Someone said my little girl was kind of chunky. I was kind of thrown. I had her to vet earlier this month and she weighs in out 6 pounds. He never commented on her weight. She was a year old in December. Should I be cutting back on her food? I use measuring cups and give the amount indicated on their dog food bag. |

| if your vet doesnt have an issue with your babies weight then i would say no. but next time you go to the vet ask the question to be sure shes at a healthy weight. maybe they meant it in a cute sorta way...sometimes i call mine chunky monkeys but they are all at a good weight.

YT 1000 Club Member | You have to love opinionated folks! Personally, I don't think 6 lbs is at all "chunky". My Romeo is anywhere from 15 - 16 lbs; I wonder what that person would call him?

| Well that was rude! Did you say something back?? If your Vet has never said anything to you, I wouldn't worry about it. Or if you are stressed about it make an apt to check with him... so you wont have to worry. 6 pounds sounds healthy to me! Sometimes I worry Pnut is too skinny, I can feel his spine and hip bones.. but the Vet tells me he is healthy at 4 pounds. I think Yorkies, like us have different little bodies. That person apparently has no clue about Yorkies so don't let that get to you.

| Thanks. I know he would say something to me. Because he told me when he felt I was letting my bichon gain too much because she has bad knees and he was concerned about extra pressure on her joints. According to our vet , my bichon is now maintaining an acceptable weight. He has never said anything about my yorkie girl's weight. He said her teeth are crooked , but I blame him because he kept waiting to see if the baby teeth would come out on their own. Actually I can't tell that they are crooked. If he mentions it again I am going to tell him that he can buy her braces since its his fault (lol). |

| I personally call Laddy my chunky monkey since he put on some weight . He was always one you could feel his ribs and all his bones. I am loving that he now has some flesh on those bones.
