| Did you adopt a Rescued Yorkie? We often refer folks to Yorkie rescue to adopt on here but I would like to hear your success stories and experiences....I know many YTers have adopted rescued pups and I admire you all so much!

| Kaiah My rescue/adopted dog is not a Yorkshire Terrier but a Shih Tzu.. Her name is Kaiah ( previously Lily..) and she is 4 yrs old ( in August ). We adopted her @ 7 months old. Her owner died . She was passed around to 3 different homes within the family and because she was not yet fully housetrained nobody would keep her. The poor baby had 3 homes plus the breeders home before she turned 7 months. One of the family members put an ad in the paper which i answered.. I went to see her and it was love at first sight.. All it took was a little love and understanding to get her potty trained and now she will go sit by the door when she needs to go out.. Kaiah is one awesome little dog and we are so lucky to have her in our lives.. |

| I rescued Mikki from a gas station. Does that count? . I tried to adopt 3 different girls from different rescues. Unfortunately, they did not work for our family. For example, one was terrified on men and I am the only girl in the house. I appreciate the rescues and all they do to ensure the pup gets the right home.

| I rescued/adopted Couver. He was in a home with several young children and was being picked up and dropped. I have rescued several yorkies and other dogs and found them homes as well. It is great to take in a foster and be able to find the perfect home for them. Rescue is great

| I'm sorry, I know they are very particular about everything in a home to ensure that the pup doesn't end up back in rescue. I know that my make yard, though fully fenced in with a 6ft fence is not up to snuff....they can easily escape beneath the fence! Because of Miss Mini's continuous medical bills, my very hectic schedule, and my difficulty in giving them up I would never be able to foster! In 7 years I will be retiring and then working part time, I will for sure be able to devote to the time and training then...hopefully by then my emotions will be in check as well! Hopefully you were given some input as to why you were declined and maybe can work with them to remedy those obstacles....

| Alice..was a rescue from a puppy mill... she was soo teeny they were afraid to adopt her out thinking she would surely have medical issues ... and they asked if i could foster her until she grew big enough to adopt out... and then of course i could not give her back ---foster fail!! but she has been my loyal sidekick for 4 years now and i wouldnt trade her for anything! xoxo |

| I have adopted 8 Yorkies. Every single one of them the only info I had on them was the picture of them and their Bio write up and talking with the Foster Mom before I brought them imto my home. I have never once had any problems with the ones I have adopted and they have all fit in so well with the others I had at that time. Of those 8, three of them had very heart breaking stories of where they come from and how they were treated. They all 3 turned out so very well. My adopted babies have been such a joy for me and I love them all so much. Adoption will always be the way I go. I have no desire to have a puppy.

Option A is a joke, I would hope obviously, and option B just wasn't an option.
