| To ALL those who's babies had surgery last week -- We sure had a lot of surgeries last week for spays and neuters. I just wanted to ask all of you (excuse the "mass thread") - how's everyone doing? Healing ok? Eating/drinking ok? Peeing and pooping ok? Stitches coming out soon? (or staples as the case may be) I know I'm going to miss someone so please forgive me and please know that I mean you too! Deb? Marta? Rebecca?

| I hope all your babies are doing well. How old are they. I need to get my 18 week old ,Niko, neutered but think he's too young. The vet disagrees. |

YT 2000 Club Member | Teeka had her spay last Wednesday, so almost a week. She is doing great! The first 2 days she was very uncomfortable. She did not have any issues with licking or scratching her incesion. She has a very healthy appetite and has been peeing and pooping as normal. The last couple of days she is wanting to run around more! It is so hard to keep her from wanting to rough house. She gets her Bully stick a lot to keep her quiet! I am so happy she is not a jumper, so I don't have to deal with that part. She still whines for me to put her up and down the furniture. I have to schedule her appointment to get her staples out and her incision checked. It looks great....no redness or swelling! I am so relieved to have this over with!!!

How much does Niko weigh? I just think it is really too soon to neuter him. A couple of reasons - 1) he's still small and growing and it's best to wait and let him finish growing, 2) Niko will most likely end up needing some puppy teeth pulled but you can't know that yet. If you wait until like 7 or 8 months, you'll know if he retained teeth and can get them pulled while he's under anesthesia being neutered. The less often you have to put these littles under, the better. I would wait. Quote:

| I'm so glad Teeka is doing well. I hope Chloe will do just as well as she has.

YT 2000 Club Member | One of the reasons, I waited to have her spay done at 8 months was to allow her to put on some weight. She weighted 3.6 @ 6 months and 3.6 @ 8 months! Well that reason go blown out of the water, since she didn't even gain an ounce! I would think she would gain some weight now that she is spayed!

| I waited until my female was 8 months old to spay her. She was 3.5 pounds and I was nervous, but I am glad I waited until she was older. I would say wait as long as you feel comfortable... How much does Niko weigh?

YT 2000 Club Member | Update on Teeka and her spay......she had her staples out yesterday. Everything looked great! It took me an hour to get there and back and oh, about 3 seconds to remove the staples! lol
