| New baby and our yorkie won't go near him... Hi all, We just got home last week with our son, and now Ellie our 3 year old female yorkie can't stand to be around him. She'll go lie in her crate, or go upstairs and lie in a bed to get away from him. Occasionally with some encouraging she'll come near the baby, but usually just leaves. Any way I can help her get more used to the baby? Thanks, Mackie |

| Give your Yorkie time. Talk to her while you are going about your daily routine, and taking care of your baby. You can also use treats to encourage your pup to come closer, reward her. Try to keep your dog's routine as normal as possible so that she doesn't resent the arrival of your baby. Of course, always supervise closely your baby and pup together. Congratulations on the new addition to your family and best wishes.

| I agree with Kristin. Keep up with the routine. Also, make sure that you greet her first before your son. After some time, she'll accept him into the pack.

| I agree with Kristin. Georgie was 2 1/2 when our son was born. My husband and I made a conscious effort to spend time with Georgie and give him the same belly rubs and attention he required Everyone settled in and 5 years later we are doing fine good luck!
