Car sick Puppy Any suggestions on what to do for a puppy who gets car sick riding in the car. So far we have made 5 trips in 3 weeks and Lacey has gotten sick three times. This last time was just to go 3 blocks down the road to the groomers. The first time was coming home from the breeder and I thought that she was just stressed. Second time was going to the Vet about 5 miles away. She rides in a soft carrier in the front passenger seat held in place by the seat belt. She doesn't bark or cry when riding, just gets sick to her stomach. Saturday, she ate at 1:30 and I took her to the groomers at 3:45. She had thrown up a little when I removed her from the carrier. I want to be able to take her places and get her used to people. Anyone else have this problem? I've had her 3 1/2 weeks and the only time she has gotten sick has been in the car.

Mine gets car sick unless she is on my knee. Crate or kennel she gets sick most times. I just find on my knee works best. Mind you if it was bad weather he's in his kennel for the trip.

| I know she is tiny and young, but being able to see out the window may help her. A car seat helped Max in the car. Here is another discussion about motion sickness that may help: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/tra...car-rides.html

Thanks for the link. Lacey does not appear to be afraid. She sits in her carrier and keeps her eyes on me the entire ride. I will try to find a car seat that works for her that she can't wiggle out of. She is only 3 pounds.

Here is one "seat" you may consider from a YT member's site (Capt Noonie): Three Yorkie Friends Car Seats - Three Yorkie Friends Travel and Lifestyle Accessories Sometimes being able to see helps alleviate motion sickness, kind of like being on a boat and watching the horizon helps.

Thank you. I ordered one. It's worth a try and the lining is washable.

When I take Abby in the car I put a stack of baby receiving blankets in our lookout car seat. Pop the mess into a sealable plastic bag and she has a clean seat to ride home in! Poor puppy!(she doesn't go in the car often- I'm not sure she will ever grow out of it)
