| If You Really Love You Yorkie/ The Breed Please don't take this the wrong way but if you love the yorkie breed, why in the world would you try to breed or purchace a dog under 4 lbs. Many people on here are on YT say that they love their babies like a member oftheir family. Well if that's the case why you put your babies life/ health at risk by breeding really small dogs and then act shocked it they don't make it. Experts even tell you that really small( AKA teacups) have a high mortality rate, and run the risk of more health issues. It's not about the money but why would I knowing this invest money $900-2000 in someone that I know that is doing something unhealthy and dangerous for the animal. My baby is 4 years old and 7 lbs and it easy not to see him sometimes if he doesn't make is presence known. This breed was originally 15lbs, now the AKC standard is 4-7 lbs. now people are still trying to breed them down to something the size of a guinea pig which are kept in a cages to keep them safe from harm. ( think about it) Dogs are ment to run around. If that isn't aniaml cruelty I don't know what is..... Excuse me YT family, respect to everyone but I needed to vent. |

| I dont understand it either but people have different opionions I guess. I just talked to the lady that I got one of my little girls from yesterday. She had sold a male and a female yorkie to a lady about a year and a half ago and her little girl got pregnant. She was only 3 lbs and she had her puppies just this last sunday. Well needless to say the momma didnt make it and neither did 2 of the puppies only 1 puppy survived. Such a sad story and now this lady is stuck with this puppy with no momma, the real sad thing is the lady bred her dogs on purpose. I just wish that people would use their heads.

| Breeding tiny dogs in MY OPINION is animal abuse, neglect ect.... unfortunately money talks.... if people keep buying tinies, that are from tinies, people will keep breeding tinies. It makes me sick... and well- I am just going to keep my mouth shut so I don't get in trouble. NOTE- I am not talking about tinies that were born from standard size parents. |

The members who have been posting here a while are usually always breeding standard sized yorkies because they have ethics & DO know better ...they also have compassion for their breeding moms. I think it's the 'new to breeding' people we need to help educate and unfortunately by the time they sign up here with questions...sometimes it's too late and their little tiny is already pregnant.... | |

| My female is 4lbs and the male is 5 lbs, they were bad teenagers and had one puppy, its a long story and I have told it here before, but, now that I see how hard this has been on her, I am getting her spayed as soon as vet says ok..he is getting fixed next week, she had a csection and is loosing weight even on vitamins from vet, calcuim and such,he says she was too little[bone structure]to breed, so if she is too little what makes people think its save for a 3 lber, sounds to me like a "no brainer" |

| My Pebbles (she's about 5 pounds) gave birth in August .... one of the pups which I kept (my Bitsy).... will only grow to about 3 to 3 1/2 pounds .. The sire (my Rocky) is only 3 pounds. All the other pups will be about 4 to 5 1/2 pounds full grown. According to your comment nobody should have purchased my Bitsy!!! Larger females do give birth to tinier pups (based on sire and/or genetics). Let's face it, alot of us do have tiny yorkies!!!

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Owning a tiny is one thing. Breeding her is another. Should also say that you shouldn't buy from someone that purposely breeds tinies. You can get a tiny from two standard parents.

| Having tiny's is great as long as people know that when they are of smaller size you are looking at breeding problems, yet I am also confused at how chiwawas weighing 3 lbs do fine,is it a yorkie thing,no matter,I am, fixing mine for safety sake, plus as many have said its differant between a small female and a small male...it was my female that was too small |

Senior Yorkie Talker | Kaytlyns mom, Maddie, was about 6 pounds. We were sitting for another yorkie at the time and they told me he had been fixed. I never saw them together. But at some point they did. I have never told this story on here but I think I need to. Anyway he weighed 6 pounds. Kaytlyn only weighs 5 so I guess we are rare ones cuz she weighs less than either of her parents. She was the only one in her litter. And as most of you know her mom passed away not to long ago due to a hernia that the vet said would be find and it wasn't. It ruptured and she passed. I have been wanting to tell this story for awhile but just couldn't put it in words. The hernia was caused from having Kaytlyn. Which like I said I had no idea she was even pregnant. She didnt gain weight or anything. She lived almost 2 years after she had her and I trusted my vet. I am searching for a new one as you can imagine. Wow I feel better telling it than I thought I would. I just wanted to say I totally don't understand the breeding of the little ones when mine had so much trouble and she was of "normal" size. I don't think it is worth it. Is the money really that important? More important than the health of you dog? Sorry so long but I needed to get this out.

| My point is people claim to love their dog but but their lives in danger. I am a man and even I know any pregnancy puts any mother at risk while giving birth. My question is why would you subject a dog and or their puppies to possible death trying to give birth. |
