| Is it too late for the ears My little 7 month old Chewy has very thick wavy hair and he has floppy ears. So 2 weeks ago I took him to the groomers for a nice puppy cut and trimming of the ears. Is it too late to try and tap his ears to get to stand up?? His dad and his mom had floppy ears. I love him either way, but he would be extra cute if his ears stood up Also, I am not sure if he would even keep the tap on his ears, he is very mischievous |

| So, the trimming the hair and weight off the ears didn't help them perk up?

YT 2000 Club Member | We got our little Maggie Mae when she was 6 months and she has a very heavy coat and her ears were floppy and cute. When she was 9 months I decided to shave her ears and tape them to see if they would stand up. I left them taped for three days and when I took the tape off they were standing. She is shy one week of being 11 months old now....ears are still up.

| Its not too late to try to get them to stand. A breeder on here shaved and taped one of her 2 yr old yorkies ears and got them to stand

YT 2000 Club Member | You are welcome. I used masking tape. I went to youtube and looked at the videos before I taped her ears. The videos showed me exactly how to tape her ears and she never messed with the tape, it didn't seem to bother her at all. I am not a breeder, so I am sure the breeders here can give you much better advice than I can, just letting you know what I did. Oh by the way, when I took the masking tape off after three days, it came off very easy.

| Go to Lowes, Home Depot, etc.. and get blue painters tape it will not pull the hair out or hurt the skin.
