| How would I get another long tailed Yorkie puppy? I inherited Coco when she was 7 mo. She's is a long tailed, floppy eared, cotton coat dog and I love all of those traits. At 2 y.o. she's a timid little thing, so I'd like to get a puppy that she could get used to as the puppy grows. I would like another long tailed pup. Would a breeder be insulted if I requested that they not dock the tail? Am I correct in thinking that I would have to give a larger deposit or pay full upfront for this request. Thanks for your reply!

| Hope some one has some ideas for you. I love natural tails. If they curl over the back they look so cute.

| There are some breeders that actually don't dock already. The only thing about asking upfront about having your baby not docked is that you would have to make sure you are first pick and pick at birth. Docks are done VERY early on...days old. So you wouldn't really know personality. Zeus has his tail and I love it. I'm getting a Biewer and it's not their standard to dock.

| You could get a Biewer or like others said, choose your yorkie at birth. I have a yorkie with a full tail and one without... I love the full tails

| Coat color/texture and floppy ears are impossible to determine at 4 days old, which is when tails are docked, so you will not have any way of knowing what your baby will look like as an adult. My Lucy was a cotton coat with floppy ears and a long tail. I thought she was just adorable. Our little Allie is undocked too, and we just love her cute tail.

| Thanks all. I hadn't thought about a Biewer. That could be a consideration.

| My Yorkie has his tail and I love it. We adopted him in the UK and they do not dock tails there at all anymore! Monty breaks the standard in every case for a yorkie...15+lbs, floppy ears, curly coat and of course his wonderful long tail. I think he is a breed unto himself and I LOVE him in all his glory!!! |

| Umm, I don't have a pix of Coco's full tail. Well, today is bath day, so I'll take one once she's fresh and clean.

| Love the slippers and pjs lol. I'm from the uk and we don't dock the tails here. As said before, they do it very early on and most breeders don't advertise till they are a few weeks old. |
