| Crates - doors? Right now Sam's IRIS ex-pen is set up in our living room. He has his bed, food dishes, water bowl, and a pee pad. He sleeps in there, and is confined while we are at work, which means he is spending an awful lot of time cooped up and alone. I want to get a crate and have him in the bedroom at night. The goal eventually is for him to sleep in the bed with us, but DH absolutely doesn't want him up there until he is potty trained. (I'm hoping crating him at night will help move along the potty training process!) I don't want to spend a lot of money on a crate that will be a temporary set up. Amazon has this one for dirt cheap: Amazon.com: Midwest 1524 iCrate Single-Door Pet... My question is: Is it worth it to pay more for one with 2 or 3 doors, or will a single be okay? Space is fairly premium in the bedroom, but I miss my boy being close to me at night!

| Amazon.com: Midwest 1524 iCrate Single-Door Pet... I use that same crate for all my Yorkies. I like it cause they can be folded flat and stored in a closet too. I like the plastic ones to transport to the Vet. I was so happy when I found two at a yard sale for $3 each. A good scrub with bleach and hot soapy water then rinse really well.

A crate is an investment you'll have for the life of your pup, so, IMO, it's not the place to just go with the cheapest, if spending a couple of bucks more, makes it more functional for you.
