| asked to leave dogpark...lol So I'm sitting in my car fuming right now. I took Luma to the dog park and we had been there for a while when a 30ish lb dog came into the small dog side. The dog was mostly minding its business but kept following Luma around. I was watching them closely. Luma clearly didnt want anything to do with the dog so I kept her over on a secluded half of the area. This dog kept going after her, tackling her and growling ay her, and I asked the womanto try to keep her dog away from mine. Well her version of trying is laughing everytime her dog chased Luma and barked in her face. I picked Luma up and was about to go and the dog barked and jumped up to snap at luma, in my arms. I said "NO" and turned away from it. The lady got mad at me and told me I need to "take that ugly rat and leave". I said gladly, but you need to control that dog before it attacks someone else. She said LUMA was egging her dog on!!!! Omg, I was livid. Anyways...just needed to get that out. poor luma is still shaking.

| Some people have no common sense. We were at dog park when person brought in two pit bull puppies, since they were puppies they under the weight limit but they played aggressively and teddy wanted nothing to do with them. The owner. Just laughed and said their just having fun. |

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Omg, That is just nuts ! I would not of been so nice, that women would have gotten a peice of my mind. But you did the right thing by picking Luma up, it could have been so much worse.

| That's one reason I won't go to dog parks anymore. Self-centered people that only think about themselves.

| I'm sorry but not the least bit surprised that happened to you. So many irresponsible, clueless people at dog parks. I don't go to them for that reason. That, and I might be tempted to lose it with someone like that.

| Dog parks are not for us. If I feel my dogs need to socialize I call known ( friendly) doggie friends for a playdate. Glad little luma is safe!!!

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I would have been extremely livid if that had happened to me. I probably would have given her an ear full if she had said that to me. People at dog parks can be extremely clueless and irresponsible. They don't have any control over their dogs & they think it is funny when their dog harasses another dog. THEN they get upset and annoyed when their dog gets into a fight or hurts another dog. I started going to scheduled dog meet ups to let my dogs socialize because generally your dog has to be pretty well behaved to be allowed to go to one of those things OR the owner has to have really good control of their dog. Glad little Luma is safe and hopefully she calms down soon, that women should have been the one to have to leave. |

| We have been going to this dog park almost every day since Luma was able to go. There have been a few times something like this happened, but its the only place she can be outside off a leash. I guess I'll stick to going earlier in the day or not on weekends at all. It was very busy today. Rosie is charting to be smaller than Luma. I don't know that I'll ever feel comfortable bringing her there. Luma is a big enough risk as it is, even at almost 7 lbs.

| I am so sorry that you and Luma were put thru that. You would think if someone loved their dog enough to want to take it to a dog park, they would be more responsible. Sadly, that is not the case. I know strangers are not under my control...I am. This is, sadly, why I would never go to a dog park and why I am very happy that I found the house I did to rent..with it's ginormous fenced in back yard (owls, hawks, or not...still love my yard )

Donating YT 500 Club Member | What kind of dog was it? At my dog park area a 30 pound dog is to big to be playing with the little dogs, and they are not allowed on the little dog side. The little dog area side is supposed to be for true small breeds only, like chihuahua's, small terriers, miniature (poodles and schnauzers and such) dogs. Those who could get seriously hurt playing with the big dogs. It is supposed to be a place where an owner of small dogs should feel safe bringing their 5-10 pound dog to, but there are those careless owners that don't take that into consideration and break the rules... but I don't know if that is a rule in your area. | Poor Luma!!! That's ridiculous and as others have said, you were a lot nicer than I would have been. Hope Luma is better soon. It's just sad that people are like that.

| The rule at this park is by height and weight. People ignore it and will come in...medium sized dogs 99% of the time come to the small side. So annoying. Slowly all the little dogs trickle out and the medium dogs have overrun our side. I have been taking her to the big dog side early in the morning when no one is there because there is a lake and she loves to swim, and there is agility equipment on that side as well.

THAT IS EXACTLY HOW IT IS AT MY DOG PARK!!! The big dogs get all of the cool equipment and stuff and the little dogs just get a small area to run around in. It is extremely annoying how people so blatantly disregard the rules of the park. That is a smart idea. I did something similar ... I just scouted out a time when I could expect no one to be there and I started going at that time. Unfortunately it means that your dog can't socialize much with others, though ... but a least they get to run around a little off leash safely. | |
